Distressed Tasteful Touches Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you my Stampin’ Up! Distressed Tasteful Touches Card! I love using distressing techniques so as soon as I saw the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder in the latest Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue I just knew I had to have it.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut pieces of Basic Grey (4.5 x 10 cm), Grey Granite (5.1 x 10 cm) and Night of Navy (4 x 10 cm) cardstock.

These three pieces of cardstock were taped together on the back using washi tape. I then heat embossed some of the images from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

These three pieces have then been embossed using the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and further distressed using a distressing tool (you can also use the blade of a pair of scissors but please be careful) and a bit of corner folding! The pieces are adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is heat embossed on Early Espresso cardstock in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The individual words are snipped out using Paper Snips and adhered to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bright & Cheerful Circles!

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you a card I created which was actually inspired by another of my cards! In Stampin’ Up! world, we call this CASing (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit). The original card used a similar colour scheme but featured stars whereas I wanted to use the circle dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies to create this bright and cheerful card.

The idea for the colour scheme came from the latest The Spot challenge. Check out their website for more information about these challenges, to see the other entries or to join in.

If you would prefer to watch me create this card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The DL card base is created from Mango Melody cardstock and is followed by a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock measuring 20 x 8.9 cm. The main card front is a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 19 x 7.9 cm.

I have cut out pieces of Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green hardtack using the two circle dies from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Labels dies. Two of the layer die cuts (Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green) were trimmed into two sections. All of the circles are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock. The individual words are trimmed using Paper Snips and adhered to the circles using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SU Pressed Petals DSP Card

Hello and welcome. I really wanted to create a card the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP) but I couldn’t decided which designs to feature! There are so many fabulous images to choose from. I decided to design a card which could feature as many as possible!

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Crumb Cake cardstock and this is followed by a smaller layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock. I then took two sheets of DSP to create a split-panel for the third layer. The foliage pattern is probably my favourite out of the pack!

The DSP pack also contains sheets which are designed to be cut up and used as toppers and borders. I cut one of these toppers and layered it on to a slightly larger piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.

I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered this to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The topper is then adhered on top, at an angle.

The sentiment (which is from the Morning Star Stamp Set) is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. A length of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread is wound into loops and adhered to the card using a Mini Glue Dot. The sentiment is then adhered on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
