Bright & Cheerful Circles!

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you a card I created which was actually inspired by another of my cards! In Stampin’ Up! world, we call this CASing (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit). The original card used a similar colour scheme but featured stars whereas I wanted to use the circle dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies to create this bright and cheerful card.

The idea for the colour scheme came from the latest The Spot challenge. Check out their website for more information about these challenges, to see the other entries or to join in.

Bright and cheerful card using Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches Bundle

Let’s make it…

The DL card base is created from Mango Melody cardstock and is followed by a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock measuring 20 x 8.9 cm. The main card front is a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 19 x 7.9 cm.

I have cut out pieces of Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green hardtack using the two circle dies from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Labels dies. Two of the layer die cuts (Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green) were trimmed into two sections. All of the circles are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock. The individual words are trimmed using Paper Snips and adhered to the circles using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Melon Mambo cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock. The main image from the Stampin’ Up! Everything Amazing Stamp Set is stamped in Basic Grey ink.

I have stamped two of the party hats in Melon Mambo ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut them using Paper Snips. The two extra pieces of the sentiment are heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Melon Mambo cardstock and trimmed using Paper Snips. These are adhered to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is added with a few Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots.

This is such a fun, simple but eye-catching card! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating Budding Blooms Dies…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Grey Granite cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Petal Pink cardstock which I have embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The three large images from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set are stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I have coloured parts of the images using the Grey Granite and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.

The leaf die from Budding Blooms is used to cut three small pieces of Silver Glimmer Paper. These are adhered to the back of one of the large die cuts using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Two of the large images are adhered directly to the card front and the third is adhered on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the small label from the Stitched Labels Dies. This is adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I hope you like my project! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Under My Umbrella Card

You may have noticed that I’m currently a little obsessed by Creative Challenges! I think they are a great way to spark creativity and encourage you to try different colour combinations and styles of project. Today I want to share with you a card I created which actually meets the requirements for two Challenges! These are: the latest Papercraft Crew Challenge (PCC #375) and The Spot Challenge (#103). If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in, you can find the details on their websites: Papercraft Crew and The Spot. Here are the challenges…

If you would prefer to watch me make the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch me video tutorial.

I decided to use the super cute Stampin’ Up! Under My Umbrella Stamp Set combined with the Stampin’ Up! Stitched So Sweetly dies. The card follows the sketch from the Papercraft Crew challenge and uses the colour combination (Rococo Rose, Basic Grey and Soft Sea Foam) from The Spot challenge!

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Basic Grey cardstock and I have followed this with a slightly smaller layer of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Using the Stitched So Sweetly dies I cut out a rectangle of Basic Grey cardstock and a slightly smaller rectangle of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and layered them together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The boots are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured using the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends. These are then fussy cut.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey ink onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The boots are adhered to the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I have coloured a length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using the Rococo Rose Dark Stampin’ Blends and adhered this to the back of the sentiment piece using Tear & Tape.

The sentiment is attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch is provided by a few Soft Sea Foam Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
