Changing Leaves with Beautiful Autumn

Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Gilded Autumn Suite Showcase. If you missed Part 1 you can find it here. This week I’m paring it back a bit with this gorgeous, clean and simple card that I’ve called Changing Leaves with Beautiful Autumn…

Changing Leaves with Stampin' Up! Beautiful Autumn Bundle - card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s Make It…

Create a (standard A6) card base from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. Follow this with a layer of Early Espresso cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. Create your main card front with a 9.5 x 13.9 cm layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Punch out the leaves from Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry cardstock. Adhere these to the right hand edge of the card front.

Stamp the ‘hey there’ sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Cut out the sentiment using the banner die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. Cut another banner from Copper Brushed Metallic cardstock and adhere the banners together with an offset.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Changing Leaves with Beautiful Autumn Card?

I hope you like my Changing Leaves with Beautiful Autumn Card. I love this combination of earthy colours with the hint of metallic cardstock. I think Very Vanilla works really well with these colours and is definitely my go-to card base / card front when using these tones.

Press On With Confidence!

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I created using the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Press On Stamp Set (sneak peek alert!). This stamp Set features in the Stampin’ Up! August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue which goes live on 4th August. I’m calling this my Press On With Confidence card!

This catalogue is filled with Christmas, Autumn and all-year-round products so there’s definitely something for everyone. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and you would like a copy of the catalogue you can fill in a form here.

As soon as I saw the Press On Stamp Set, it just jumped into my basket! I love coffee and there are some really cute images and great sentiments. Here’s the first project I created…

Stampin' Up! Press On With Confidence Card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

I had the idea for the layout straight away which meant I needed a different sized card base to the usual A6. This card is DL sized. To create this card base, take a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock and trim to 19.8cm along the long edge (leaving the 20cm edge in tact). Score along the same edge at 9.9cm.

Next is a layer of Coastal Cabana cardstock measuring 19.1 x 8.9 cm. The main card front is then a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 18.1 x 7.9 cm.

Onto the card front I have stamped the row of cups in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the coffee beans in Early Espresso ink. The cups are coloured using the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The large cup is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto both Whisper White and a piece of the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper (DSP). The cup wrap is trimmed out of the DSP and adhered to the fussy-cut cup.

I have stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. The same die is also used to cut out a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock. These labels are layered together and the cup is adhered too them. The whole piece is the adhered over the stamped coffee beans using Stampin’ Dimesionals.

Both adhering the card front to the Coastal Cabana layer I have cut a notch out using a small circle punch. Once adhered I used a hole punch to create a hole in the centre of the notch. A piece of Crickled Seam Binding Ribbon has been coloured using the Calypso Coral Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and then threaded through the hole.

The final touch is provided by a few of the Playing With Patterns Resin Dots (Coastal Cabana).

What do you think to my Press On With Confidence Card?

I hope you like my Stampin’ Up! Press On With Confidence Card. This is such a fun stamp set for the coffee lovers in your life – think cards, gift boxes, home decor, and more! I love the bright, fresh colour combination of Whisper White, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral with the little hint of Early Espresso.

Step It Up… Tasteful Touches

Step It Up Tasteful Touches

Hello and welcome to ‘Step It Up Tasteful Touches’, the latest edition of my Step It Up Series! This follows on from my Stampin’ Basics Series which looked at everything you need to start your stamping journey and some hints and tips on how to get better results from your stamping. Now we are moving on to the ways in which you can take your projects to the next level!

In each episode we will look at a simple stamping project (just stamps, ink and cardstock needed) and explore different techniques and products that can be used to ‘Step It Up’.

If you would prefer to watch me create the cards, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can find my video tutorial.

Today I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, and this is my ‘simple stamping’ project…

Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches - Step It Up Tasteful Touches Card 1 by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

For today’s three cards I will be using the Stampin’ Up! Notecards & Envelopes. These are a great option if you are in a rush and don’t want to make your own card base.

I have stamped the flower image from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set directly onto the notecard in Night of Navy ink.

Pieces of Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock are cut to 6 x 3.2 cm. Onto the Whisper White piece I have stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. This piece is then layered onto the Night of Navy piece to help the sentiment stand out from the card base. These pieces are adhered to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is a really quick and simple card to make and is great for beginners or those short on time. However, what if you are ready it step up your projects or you want to spend a little longer creating a really special card? Well, there are many options and that is the purpose of this series. Today we are going to look at two alternative cards…

Step It Up… Version 1

Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches - Step It Up Tasteful Touches Card 2 by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

To step up our cards we are going to use other products from the Stampin’ Up! In Good Taste Suite.

On the second card, the main card front is formed by a piece of Night of Navy cardstock measuring 8.5 x 12.1 cm. This has been embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The flower image has been stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut.

One of the Tasteful Labels Dies has been used to cut out a piece of Vellum Cardstock.

The sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using another of the Tasteful Labels Dies. This piece is layered together with the Vellum and the flower and adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Step It Up… Version 2

Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches - Step It Up Tasteful Touches Card 3 by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

In version 2, I have cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 8.4 x 12.7 cm and adhered it to the notecard. This is followed by a layer of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP) measuring 8.1 x 11.9 cm.

The flower is, again, stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut.

The larger label die is this time used to cut out a piece of Night of Navy cardstock which has then been embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment has been stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. The sentiment piece is further decorated by stamping the foliage in Night of Navy ink around it.

The final touch is provided by a few of the In Good Taste Wooden Elements. The foliage pieces are adhered to the back of the flower before the flower is adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Step It Up Tasteful Touches Cards?

I hope you like my ‘Step It Up Tasteful Touches’ Cards. Which is your favourite? I hope I have managed to show you that there are many ways to create beautiful cards. We have looked at different ways to use DSP, Embossing Folders and Embellishments to create cards which are similar in theme but very different.

If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Just (For You) Jade Card featuring the Stampin' Up! Meant To Be Stamp Set - Card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Just Jade cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. For the main card front I have used a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

Onto the card front I have stamped the ornate heart image from the Stampin’ Up! Meant To Be Stamp Set repeatedly in Just Jade ink.

A length of Just Jade Gingham Ribbon has been doubled over and secured using a length of Misty Moonlight / Silver Baker’s Twine (these are both part of the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack). This has then been adhered to the card front using a small piece of Tear & Tape.

The sentiment (also from the Meant To Be Stamp Set) is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. This is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. One of the Stitched Be Mine Heart Dies has been used to cut out a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock which has then been adhered to the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
