Magnolia Lane – part 2

Last week I introduced you to the Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Suite of products and we made some simple but beautiful projects using the stamp set. If you missed this blog post you can find it here. This week we are going to add in the die set, DSP and ribbon bundle to take our creations to the next level.

Again we have a set of three matching projects. I hope you like them!

Gift tag

Let’s start with the gift tag which is made from a base of Mossy Meadow cardstock and shaped using the Scalloped Tag Topper and Detailed Trio punches.

I’ve added a 2” punched circle of Petal Pink cardstock but layered it with Vellum cardstock (cut out using the Starburst punch) to keep it subtle.

Stamping and heat embossing the flower in white makes it easy to watercolour the image as the embossing powder serves as a resist to help prevent the ink going outside the lines! The watercolouring was achieved by lightly pressing the ink pads (Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink) onto a small acrylic block and applying using an Aqua Painter. Adhering the flower using dimensionals helps it to stand out from the background.

I also heat embossed the sentiment in white and cut out using the Classic Label punch (you’ll notice that I’ve trimmed one end). Rhinestone Basic Jewels have been coloured using the Dark Mossy Meadow Blend and adhered around the tag. The final touch is added with the length of Linen Ribbon secured with the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread.

Card

The card base is Mossy Meadow cardstock cut and scored to A6 size. Next is a layer of Petal Pink cardstock which I have stamped with the flourish image in Mossy Meadow ink. Although this is different from the other projects, it helps to fill in some of the ‘blank space’ and because I’ve kept to the colour scheme it still fits in well.

I’ve added a 2” punched circle of DSP but layered it with Vellum cardstock to tone it down. The flower and sentiment were created as for the gift tag and the finishing touch is provided by the coloured Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Gift box

The basic gift box is one of the Mini Pizza Boxes which come in a pack of 8. As above I have layered Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink cardstock followed by DSP and Vellum cardstock. The flower and sentiment were created as previously and again I have added the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
