Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Stampin’ Up! In Good Taste Suite Showcase. If you missed Part 1, you can find it here. This week I’d like to show you that the Tasteful Touches Bundle also looks pretty in pink!

Petal Pink is one of the Suite colours and combining it with Smoky Slate gives a lovely elegant look to your projects.

Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches Card in Petal Pink and Smoky Slate by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Smoky Slate cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Petal Pink cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. The main card front is a layer of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP) measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

Two pieces of DSP are cut out using the Tasteful Labels Dies. The larger piece (pink textile image) is embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. These are layered together and adhered to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto Petal Pink cardstock and cut out using another of the Tasteful Labels Dies. This is then adhered to the card front. The flower image is stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White cardstock. It is then coloured using Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and fussy-cut.

Two of the leaf In Good Taste Elements are adhered to the back of the flower and the flower adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Simple Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome to Part 4 of my Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Showcase. If you have missed the previous instalments you can find them here… part 1, 2 and 3.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

It’s very tempting with this Suite to do as the name suggests and create ‘ornate’ projects. However, I wanted to showcase something simpler and was inspired by the latest CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. You can find out more about these challenges, see the other entries and join in by clicking the link above. The sketch for the latest challenge is shown below…

I immediately thought about using strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the focal point of my project…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Old Olive cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock.

I cut three different lengths from three different sheets of the Ornate Garden DSP and adhered them to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive ink directly on to the card front.

This is such a simple card but I love the clean, fresh look. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Next time…

Next month my Suite Showcase will be replaced by a Retiring Product Showcase! Normal service will be resumed in June!

Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome to Part 1 of my Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Showcase! The BRAND NEW (and utterly gorgeous) Ornate Garden Suite will be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue 2020/21 but has been released early! Lucky us!

If you would prefer to watch me make the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created using Highland Heather cardstock. I have then cut a slightly smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock for the main card front. I have stamped the flourishes from the Ornate Style Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the card front.

I have stamped the single daisy image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured using the Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The flower was fussy-cut and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is then cut out using one of the dies from the Ornate Layers Die Set. One of the larger dies was used to cut out a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and these were layered together to form the sentiment piece. This was attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SU Sailing Home Card

Hello and welcome to part 5 of my Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Suite Showcase. This week I want to share with you a card I created for the Global Design Project Challenge #233. This is a colour challenge using the combination Pool Party, So Saffron and Petal Pink. If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in you can find their website here.

This might not be an obvious colour combination for the Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Suite but this week I’ve been trying to ‘think outside the box’! This is my entry…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut a layer of Whisper White cardstock to 8 x 12.9cm. One of the images from the Stampin’ Up! Bokeh Dots Stamp Set has been stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in all three of the challenge colours – Pool Party, So Saffron and Petal Pink. These images were then trimmed.

I adhered the Petal Pink piece to the top of the Whisper White cardstock strip using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I then ripped along the top edge of the Pool Party piece and adhered this such that it overlapped slightly with the Petal Pink piece. I repeated this with the So Saffron piece to create the main card front.

Images and one of the sentiments from the Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home Stamp Set were stamped in Petal Pink ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies. Note: the compass is actually cut out using the 1.5″ Circle Punch.

A length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon has been coloured using the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends and then looped through the anchor and tied in place with a length of Silver Metallic Thread.

The die-cut images are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the sentiment is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
