How to make someone smile!

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you a card I created for the SU! Colour Challenge for September. You can find the inspiration photo below. Click the link above for more information, to see the other entries or to take part. This colour combination really made me smile so I knew exactly which sentiment I had to use! The colours are so bright and cheerful that I wanted to show them off with a simple card. Does my Swirly Frames colourful card make you smile? Sending a handmade card is a great way to make someone smile!

Let’s make it… Swirly Frames colourful card

Start by creating a (standard A6) card base from Whisper White Thick cardstock. Follow this with a layer of Basic Black cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. The main card front is a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

Onto the card front, stamp the large circle from the Stampin’ Up! Swirly Frames Stamp Set in Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Magenta Madness ink. Stamp the smaller circle in Petal Pink and Balmy Blue ink. Cut matching colours of cardstock using the two circle dies from the Tasteful Labels die set. Adhere the cardstock circles into the centres of the corresponding stamped circle. Trim any pieces which overlap the card front.

Heat emboss the sentiment in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Basic Black cardstock. Cut out the sentiment using the Tasteful Labels dies and adhere to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
