SU Rooted In Nature Card

Hello and welcome! I am delighted to say that I recently won an AAA Cards Challenge! If you would like to look back at the winning card, you can find it here. Having won the challenge, I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the latest challenge. Of course, I said yes!

The challenge rules are shown in the graphic below. You can visit the AAA Cards website to find out more about these challenges, view the entries or take part yourself.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and to include the optional twist in my design. I hope you like it…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6 size) card base is created from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

Onto this Whisper White card front I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the bottom left hand corner.

I stamped the small leaf image three times, in Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride and Balmy Blue ink. I used a simple mask to ensure that the images didn’t pass the one third point.

I think this is such a clean and fresh colour combination, even if a little unexpected for leaves!

What do you think?

Quick and Simple Baby Card

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share with you a really quick and simple card to welcome a new baby. I have used a really clean and subtle colour palette for this card, I hope you like it! It’s perfect for those of you who don’t yet have a die cutting machine too as you only need a paper trimmer!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 10 x 14.4 cm layer of Whisper White standard cardstock.

The sentiment that I have used is from the Stampin’ Up! So Sentimental Stamp Set. I have cut 6 squares of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3 x 3 cm and stamped the sentiment onto them in the following colours: Pool Party, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride. The squares are adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

I think this card would look great in a number of different colour schemes – you could even just use one ink colour and then just put one of the squares on dimensionals to help it stand out.

What do you think?

I hope you like my project. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I created for a sketch challenge hosted by Inspire.Create.Challenges – click on the link to find out more about these challenges, view the other entries or join in. The sketch for this challenge is shown below…

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the bottom of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite and this is what I created…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 14.6 x 10.2 cm layer of Old Olive cardstock.

I have used one of the Ornate Layers Dies to cut out a piece of Ornate Garden Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP). Another piece of the DSP is cut out using the 2.25″ Circle Punch. These two pieces are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A length of Terracotta Tile Ribbon (from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack) is wrapped around the card front and adhered at the back using Tear & Tape.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered over the ribbon using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Gilded Gems.

This is such a gorgeous Suite of products which all coordinates so well. You can’t help but make stunning cards!

What do you think?

I hope you like my project. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com
