SU Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome! Recently, Stampin’ Up! have been issuing weekly Colour Challenges to demonstrators. I’m a little bit behind but here is one I have taken part in…

The challenge involves making a project using any combination of the colours shown. I decided to use Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape. Here is my project…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 10.2 x 14.6 cm layer of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. The main card front is a 10 x 14.4 cm layer of Whisper White cardstock.

Onto the card front I have heat embossed the gorgeous, large image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set using Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder (white would work equally well). I have then used a Sponge Brayer to colour over the image; using both Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape inks to create a blended effect.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The frame is cut out of Lovely Lipstick cardstock using one of the Ornate Layers Dies. These two pieces are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few of the Lovely Lipstick Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.

Ornate Garden Golden Style

Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Showcase. If you missed the previous instalment you can find it here.

This week I’d like to share with you this gorgeous, matching, Very Vanilla and Gold gift tag and card. This is such a stylish combination and the pops of colour provided by the Old Olive and Terracotta Tile Ribbon are the perfect finishing touch.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it… Gift Tag

The tag is created from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I have used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and the corner rounder from the Detailed Trio Punch to create the basic shape.

The main floral image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set is stamped in Versamark ink onto the tag and then heat embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The sentiment is also heat embossed onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This sentiment piece is adhered to the main tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A length of the Terracotta Tile Ribbon is threaded through the tag and secured in place using a shorter length of the Old Olive Ribbon.

Let’s make it… Card

The card base is created from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. This is followed by a slightly smaller layer of Very Vanilla cardstock which has been embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock has been cut out using the Ornate Layers Dies. I masked off the intricate sections of the die cut and stamped the main floral image in Versamark ink. This was then heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder as with the tag.

A small length of each of the Terracotta Tile and Old Olive Ribbon were adhered to the back of the die cut using Tear & Tape such that they are just visible. This little bit of colour helps to break up the monochrome look and add a bit of extra interest. It also helps to tie the card in with the tag. The die cut is then adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and is cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The sentiment piece is then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Gilded Gems.

Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome to Part 1 of my Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Showcase! The BRAND NEW (and utterly gorgeous) Ornate Garden Suite will be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue 2020/21 but has been released early! Lucky us!

If you would prefer to watch me make the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created using Highland Heather cardstock. I have then cut a slightly smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock for the main card front. I have stamped the flourishes from the Ornate Style Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the card front.

I have stamped the single daisy image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured using the Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The flower was fussy-cut and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is then cut out using one of the dies from the Ornate Layers Die Set. One of the larger dies was used to cut out a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and these were layered together to form the sentiment piece. This was attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Ornate Thanks Card

Welcome to week 3 of my Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz Colour Challenge. If you missed weeks 1 and 2 you can find them here (week 1 and week 2).

This week I would like to share with you a card I created using the Early Release Ornate Thanks stamp set. To find out more about the Ornate Garden Suite Early Release click here.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then taken a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and applied water using an Aqua Painter. Using Clear Blocks as palettes, I applied Pear Pizzazz, Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo ink to the wet paper and blended slightly.

Once the paper was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out using one of the Ornate Layers dies. The sentiment piece was adhered to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a length of Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon (sorry – I thought it was Coastal Cabana at the time!), folded it in half an attached to the sentiment piece using a Mini Library Clip. To add interest and help to keep the ribbon in place, I tied a length of Silver Metallic Thread around it.

The final touch is provided with a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

The Ornate Garden Suite is so versatile and will be available from 1st April so keep checking back for more information. If you can’t wait until then, you could always join my team and add the Suite (or your favourite parts) to your Starter Kit! Email me for more details or click here to join.

Next time…
