SU Bloom & Grow Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I create for a colour challenge hosted by The Spot. The challenge was to create a project using the colours Petal Pink and Grey Granite plus use some sort of Metallics – foil, glimmer paper, embellishments etc. If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in please visit the website linked above.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating Budding Blooms Dies…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Grey Granite cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Petal Pink cardstock which I have embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The three large images from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set are stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I have coloured parts of the images using the Grey Granite and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.

The leaf die from Budding Blooms is used to cut three small pieces of Silver Glimmer Paper. These are adhered to the back of one of the large die cuts using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Two of the large images are adhered directly to the card front and the third is adhered on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the small label from the Stitched Labels Dies. This is adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I hope you like my project! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Ornate Garden Golden Style

Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite Showcase. If you missed the previous instalment you can find it here.

This week I’d like to share with you this gorgeous, matching, Very Vanilla and Gold gift tag and card. This is such a stylish combination and the pops of colour provided by the Old Olive and Terracotta Tile Ribbon are the perfect finishing touch.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it… Gift Tag

The tag is created from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. I have used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and the corner rounder from the Detailed Trio Punch to create the basic shape.

The main floral image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set is stamped in Versamark ink onto the tag and then heat embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The sentiment is also heat embossed onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This sentiment piece is adhered to the main tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A length of the Terracotta Tile Ribbon is threaded through the tag and secured in place using a shorter length of the Old Olive Ribbon.

Let’s make it… Card

The card base is created from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. This is followed by a slightly smaller layer of Very Vanilla cardstock which has been embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock has been cut out using the Ornate Layers Dies. I masked off the intricate sections of the die cut and stamped the main floral image in Versamark ink. This was then heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder as with the tag.

A small length of each of the Terracotta Tile and Old Olive Ribbon were adhered to the back of the die cut using Tear & Tape such that they are just visible. This little bit of colour helps to break up the monochrome look and add a bit of extra interest. It also helps to tie the card in with the tag. The die cut is then adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and is cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The sentiment piece is then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Gilded Gems.

Under My Umbrella Card

Hello and welcome. Today I would like to share with you a card created using the Stampin’ Up! Under My Umbrella Bundle. If you’d prefer to watch me making this card, scroll to the end of this post where you’ll find my YouTube video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. For the main card front I have cut a slightly smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock and embossed it using the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

I have wrapped a length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the top of the embossed layer and held in place using Tear & Tape (on the back of the embossed layer). I have tied another, shorter, length of the ribbon towards the right hand side. The card front can then be adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I have stamped the umbrella and boots images onto Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad DSP in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The umbrella is cut out using the coordinating punch and the boots are fussy-cut. The are adhered to a piece of Whisper White cardstock which has been cut out using the Stampin’ Up! Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The umbrella handle is stamped directly onto the cardstock using Basic Grey ink. The image piece is then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. This sentiment piece is then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
