Here is the project that I have made for our hop today…

I have used the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Stamp Set and coordinating punches to create this masculine Valentine’s Day card.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I then cut a smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock and embossed it using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder. Using a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker, I created ‘splatters’ down the left hand side of the card. I think this adds a little extra interest and stops the card from looking too stark.

Using the plain punch (non-scalloped) from the Heart Punch pack, I cut four hearts from 6×6″ Neutrals Designer Series Paper (two each of Sahara Sand and Night of Navy). I then adhered these down the right hand side of the card front.

I wrapped a length of Night of Navy / Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine around the card front and adhered behind using Tear & Tape. The card front was then adhered to the card base.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and cut out using the heart punch. This was then adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the use of Sahara Sand cardstock rather than Whisper White here gives a more distressed look and helps with the masculine feel of the card.

DSP Gift Card Envelopes

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Monthly Team Blog Hop! We are so happy that you could join us today for this blog hop full of ideas and inspiration. Here are the projects that I have made for our hop today…

We all know people who are really difficult to buy for and often feel guilty when resorting to giving gift cards. But when the packaging is this good you don’t need to feel bad! These cute little gift card envelopes are really quick and easy to make, using a single 6×6″ piece of DSP.

Let’s make it…

The first thing to say is be careful if your DSP has a pattern in which the orientation is important!

Start by trimming 3/4″ from the side of your DSP sheet to create the ‘belly band’. Along the remaining 5&1/4″ edge, score at 3/4″ and 4&1/2″. Turn the DSP and score at 1&1/4″ and 3&3/4″ along the 6″ edge. The smaller section will become your top envelope flap so, again, be careful with the orientation.

Fold and burnish all of your score lines. Cut along your score lines to the intersections so you remove the four corner rectangles. You can then create tabs as shown in the image below and round the corners (if desired).

Adhere strips of Tear & Tape to the small tabs and fold up the larger section to create your envelope. Fold the ‘belly band’ around your finished envelop to get the desired fold lines, remove and adhere. Then slip the ‘belly band’ over the envelope so that the join is at the back.

It’s as simple as that! But, you can of course embellish them to your heart’s content (particularly if your DSP is not as stunning as the Stampin’ Up! Wrapped in Plaid or Feels Like Frost)!
