Hello and welcome to the November Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop! The theme this month is a non-traditional Christmas colour challenge! I can’t wait to see what my Stamptastic Friends come up with!
I got the inspiration for my card from the Stampin’ Up! Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper. The colour palette of this DSP definitely doesn’t scream Christmas! However, one of the sheets really reminded me of a snowy sky – albeit a Calypso Coral one! I hope you like it…
Let’s make it… Calypso Coral Christmas
Start with a (standard A6) card base created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. Follow this with a piece of the DSP measuring 10.2 x 14.5 cm.
Using the Joy Dies, cut out the three layers in Vellum, Whisper White and Calypso Coral cardstock. I used the Adhesive Sheets on the Calypso Coral layer to make life easier. If you haven’t tried these sheets, they are perfect for this type of die cut with very little surface area for wet adhesive. Once these pieces are layered together, adhere them to the card front.
Using the Peace & Joy Stamp Set, stamp ‘merry’ and ‘and’ in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim these pieces using Paper Snips and adhere to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the final touch, add a few Pearl Basic Jewels over the ‘snowflakes’!
What do you think? Do you like non-traditional colours for Christmas cards or are you strictly red and green?!
