Hello Handsome Masculine Card

Hello and welcome! I think a lot of people struggle to create cards for men. In my opinion this is because a lot of craft companies don’t make suitable products! However, Stampin’ Up! have lots of options in the latest Annual Catalogue – cars, hobbies, camping, images of men, etc. When I saw the Pallet Thoughts Stamp Set in the latest catalogue I knew I had to buy it! I love the wood effect and the fabulous sentiments. The sample shown in the catalogue was my inspiration for this particular Hello Handsome Masculine Card – take a look on Page 137. If you would like to see another card I have shared using this Stamp Set, you can find it here.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Early Espresso cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

Using the Stamparatus and the hinge-step technique, I stamped the wood effect multiple times onto the card front in Early Espresso ink. If you are not familiar with the Stamparatus or the hinge-step technique, take a look at my video here.

One of the large label dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies is used to cut out a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Three different sized stars from the Stitched Stars Dies are cut out of Basic Grey cardstock.

The ‘Hello Handsome’ sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. The arrow is also stamped onto the sentiment piece in Merry Merlot ink. I thought this would help draw the eye to the other sentiment (from the Round of Applause Stamp Set) which is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Merry Merlot cardstock and cut out with another of the Tasteful Labels Dies.

The die cuts are all layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Hello Handsome Masculine Card?

I hope you like my Hello Handsome Masculine Card. I think the wood effect is so realistic and I’m looking forward to using that particular stamp on lots of projects. It will also look great teamed up with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder!

Quick & Simple Masculine Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a Quick & Simple Masculine Card because I know a lot of people struggle to make these. Luckily, Stampin’ Up! currently have quite a few masculine themed stamp sets. My favourite is the Pallet Thoughts Stamp Set which I have used in today’s project.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut pieces of Blackberry Bliss, Pretty Peacock, Merry Merlot and Night of Navy cardstock to 10 x 3 cm.

The four pieces of cardstock were taped together on the back with washi tape to allow me to stamp as if it were a single cardstock layer. The sentiment and various images from the stamp set are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto this layer.

I then removed the tape and adhered the pieces to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue! Done! Wow, I think this might be the first time I have described a card making process in three paragraphs!

What do you think to my Quick & Simple Masculine Card?

I think this is a gorgeous, rich colour combination that works really well with the gold and is perfect for masculine cards. The detail stamps (arrows, screws, patterns) are a great way to add extra detail without using ribbons or gems etc. I hope you like my Quick & Simple Masculine Card and I hope that I have shown you how easy it can be to create an effective card for the men in your life.

Stampin' Up! Clean & Simple Geared Up Garage Card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm which forms the main card front.

I have sponged So Saffron ink on the corner of the card front to help ground the images and to bring in the challenge colour.

The tool box and oil can images from the Stampin’ Up! Geared Up Garage Stamp Set are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The images are coloured using the Night of Navy and Real Red Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers and cut out using the coordinating Garage Gears Dies. These die cuts are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. It is cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I trimmed the edge of the die cut and adhered it to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Celebrate Masculine Makes!

Hello and welcome to the latest Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop! We’re so pleased you could join us. This month our theme is Masculine Makes!

People often say they struggle to make cards for men but with Stampin’ Up! products there are so many options – Stamp Sets which cover different hobbies, outdoor scenes and so many colours to choose from!

I have decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and coordinating Garage Gears Dies for my project, I hope you like it…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock and this is followed by a 14.6 x 10.2 cm layer of Basic Black cardstock. The main card front is created from a 9.9 x 14.3 cm layer of Whisper White cardstock.

I have used the ‘oil spill’ image (stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink) and some splatters (created using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker) to create a background.

The multiple gears die is used to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock which I have then pressed into a Versamark Pad and heat embossed using Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The die cut is then adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Buffalo Check Background Stamp is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and I have cut it down to 6.4 x 10 cm using the Paper Trimmer. I have distressed this using a distressing tool but you could always use the blade of a pair of scissors (please be careful!). I have also ‘scrunched up’ the cardstock (is that a real word?) and adhered it to the card front in just two places such that it looks a bit like a fluttering chequered flag.

The ‘celebrate’ sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. It is cut out using one of the label dies and distressed as above. I have then used Basic Grey ink and a Sponge Dauber to add a grungy look. I have adhered one of the Classic Garage Metal Elements to the sentiment piece using a Mini Glue Dot and the whole piece is tucked under the ‘flag’ and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A piece of Basic Black cardstock has been cut out using the 2.25″ Circle Punch. The 2″ Circle Punch has been used to cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock. This has been decorated with splatters using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and the two pieces layered together. The car image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating die. This is layered on to the circles and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think?

I love all of the layers and texture on this card and I think it proves that masculine makes can be really detailed too.
