How to create Handsomely Suited Gift Tags!

As you may know by now the Stampin’ Up! January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue is on its way! As a demonstrator I have been able to pre-order some of the fabulous products which is really exciting. I’ll be sharing them with you as much as possible so that you can decide which ones are for you and give you some ideas to get you started.

Today I want to share a couple of Handsomely Suited Gift Tags! These projects feature products from the upcoming Well Suited Suite. The Suite consists of the Handsomely Suited Stamp Set, Suit & Tie Dies (save 10% by purchasing as a bundle!), Well Suited Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Well Suited Twine Combo Pack.

Let’s make them… Handsomely Suited Gift Tags

Start by creating the base tag. For this you will need a piece of cardstock measuring 5 x 10 cm. Shape the tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. In the first example I have used Basic Black cardstock. In the second example I have used Whisper White Thick cardstock follow by a piece of the DSP.

Use the dies to cut out the collar (in the appropriate cardstock or DSP) and adhere to the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the first example I have stamped the tie onto Smoky Slate ink in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This is cut out using the coordinating die. Stamp the sentiment onto Smoky Slate cardstock and cut out using the Classic Label Punch. The word ‘handsome’ is from one of the larger sentiments in the Handsomely Suited so I masked off the rest of the sentiment before stamping. This label is then adhered to the tag using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the second example I have cut out the buttons from Seaside Spray cardstock and adhered them to the ‘shirt’ using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Seaside Spray cardstock and cut out using the Classic Label Punch. The label is adhered to the tag using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The ribbons I have used are the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (which I have coloured using the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends Marker) and the Night of Navy Ribbon from the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack.

What do you think to my Handsomely Suited Gift Tags?

I hope you enjoyed finding out how to make these Handsomely Suited Gift Tags. I’m sure you are going to love this Suite – the DSP is full of gorgeous patterns just perfect for making these cute little shirts, suits and ties!

Hello Handsome Masculine Card

Hello and welcome! I think a lot of people struggle to create cards for men. In my opinion this is because a lot of craft companies don’t make suitable products! However, Stampin’ Up! have lots of options in the latest Annual Catalogue – cars, hobbies, camping, images of men, etc. When I saw the Pallet Thoughts Stamp Set in the latest catalogue I knew I had to buy it! I love the wood effect and the fabulous sentiments. The sample shown in the catalogue was my inspiration for this particular Hello Handsome Masculine Card – take a look on Page 137. If you would like to see another card I have shared using this Stamp Set, you can find it here.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Early Espresso cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

Using the Stamparatus and the hinge-step technique, I stamped the wood effect multiple times onto the card front in Early Espresso ink. If you are not familiar with the Stamparatus or the hinge-step technique, take a look at my video here.

One of the large label dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies is used to cut out a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. Three different sized stars from the Stitched Stars Dies are cut out of Basic Grey cardstock.

The ‘Hello Handsome’ sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. The arrow is also stamped onto the sentiment piece in Merry Merlot ink. I thought this would help draw the eye to the other sentiment (from the Round of Applause Stamp Set) which is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Merry Merlot cardstock and cut out with another of the Tasteful Labels Dies.

The die cuts are all layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Hello Handsome Masculine Card?

I hope you like my Hello Handsome Masculine Card. I think the wood effect is so realistic and I’m looking forward to using that particular stamp on lots of projects. It will also look great teamed up with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder!

Quick & Simple Masculine Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a Quick & Simple Masculine Card because I know a lot of people struggle to make these. Luckily, Stampin’ Up! currently have quite a few masculine themed stamp sets. My favourite is the Pallet Thoughts Stamp Set which I have used in today’s project.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut pieces of Blackberry Bliss, Pretty Peacock, Merry Merlot and Night of Navy cardstock to 10 x 3 cm.

The four pieces of cardstock were taped together on the back with washi tape to allow me to stamp as if it were a single cardstock layer. The sentiment and various images from the stamp set are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto this layer.

I then removed the tape and adhered the pieces to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue! Done! Wow, I think this might be the first time I have described a card making process in three paragraphs!

What do you think to my Quick & Simple Masculine Card?

I think this is a gorgeous, rich colour combination that works really well with the gold and is perfect for masculine cards. The detail stamps (arrows, screws, patterns) are a great way to add extra detail without using ribbons or gems etc. I hope you like my Quick & Simple Masculine Card and I hope that I have shown you how easy it can be to create an effective card for the men in your life.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm which forms the main card front.

I have sponged So Saffron ink on the corner of the card front to help ground the images and to bring in the challenge colour.

The tool box and oil can images from the Stampin’ Up! Geared Up Garage Stamp Set are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The images are coloured using the Night of Navy and Real Red Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers and cut out using the coordinating Garage Gears Dies. These die cuts are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
