Stampin' Up! New In Colours 2020-2022

I have used strips of cardstock in each of the new In Colours and heat embossed images from the Lovely You Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This strips are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Lengths of the coordinating ribbon are adhered to the cardstock using Tear & Tape.

The sentiment is also from the Lovely You Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This is then cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies and adhered over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tone-on-Tone Stamping With Lovely You

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share with you a card made using the Tone-on-Tone Stamping Technique. I have used the Stampin’ Up! Lovely You Bundle (available from 3rd June 2020 – or before if you Join My Team!).

This card was inspired by a Global Design Project Colour Challenge. Click the link to find out more, see the other entries or take part!

Tone-on-Tone stamping involves using stamping with a particular colour of ink onto the same colour of cardstock. It’s a great way to add subtle patterns or text to a background. Here’s my card…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. Next I have used a 14.4 x 10 cm piece of Pretty Peacock which I have stamped one of the foliage images onto using Pretty Peacock ink. The technique is repeated on pieces of Soft Sea Foam (8.4 x 10 cm) and Blushing Bride (11.4 x 5 cm) cardstock using foliage and flower stamps from the same Stamp Set. These pieces are all layered together as shown.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto a 0.75″ strip of Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. A 1″ strip of Pretty Peacock is also cut out with the punch. These are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few of the 2019-2021 In Colour Faceted Dots.

What do you think?

I think tone-on-tone stamping is a great technique for adding subtle patterns to plain cardstock. It really lends itself to making quick and simple cards which look amazing. Why not try it with a sentiment?

I’m already in love with this punch too! Six different labels from one punch – wow!

Lovely You Simple Stamping Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you this Stampin’ Up! Lovely You Simple Stamping card. ‘Simple Stamping’ cards are those which require only stamps, ink and card, and as such, are great for beginners or for when you are short on time. This Stamp Set will be available in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. To request your copy click here.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you’ll find my video tutorial.

This card was created for a CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. The sketch is shown below. You can find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in here.

Here is my project (and card making doesn’t get much simpler than this)…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. The three different foliage images are stamped directly onto the card in Shaded Spruce, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz ink. The flowers are stamped in Highland Heather ink.

The sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather ink onto Whisper White cardstock and trimmed using the Paper Trimmer. This is simply adhered to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is such a quick and simple card to create but still manages to pack a real punch! You could even produce it using only two ink pads if you only have one shade of green!

What do you think?

Do you enjoy Simple Stamping? I find these types of project are great when I am short on time or if I am batch making cards. They are also perfect for introducing friends or family to card making if they have never done it before.

If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

The Stamp Set is not available at the time of writing (unless you purchase the Starter Kit, see below) but the item code is 152525 – you can enter this code in my online shop from 3rd June 2020.
