Painted Poppies Watercolour Card

Hello and welcome to the Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop! This month we are creating projects using our three favourite Stampin’ Up! Colours. For me, these are: Highland Heather, Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose. It’s so hard to choose though! What are your favourites?

If you would prefer to watch me create the card simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

For my project I decided to use the Painted Poppies Stamp Set…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Basic Black cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper.

Six of the images from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set are stamped in Stazon Jet Black ink. Water was applied to the images using the Large tip Aqua Painter and then ink applied using the Medium tip Aqua Painter. I use small Clear Blocks as make-shift palettes!

Once the water and ink is dried (use a Heat Tool if you’re in a hurry but don’t forget it may move the ink a little), I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to create splatters all across the card front. This is a great technique if you feel you have a little too much white space but don’t want to distract from your focal images too much.

The sentiment is from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set and is stamped three times in Stazon Jet Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. These are cut out using Paper Snips and adhered to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (even these tiny ones need cutting in half for this!).

I hope you like my project. Don’t forget to carry on hopping to see what inspiration my Stamptastic Friends have for you…

Happy crafting, h x

SU Stitched Stars Birthday Card

Hello and welcome! I’ve got a fun, bright, cheerful card for you today – just what we need right now! This is a card I created for a Colour INKspiration colour challenge. You can find out more about these challenges on the Facebook page. The colour combination for the challenge was: Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody – wow!

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Stitched Stars Dies and Label Me Bold Stamp Set.

If you would prefer to watch me make the card simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Mango Melody cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock and a layer of Whisper White cardstock.

The Stitched Stars Dies are used to cut out a piece of cardstock in each of the challenge colours – Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody. These are all adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set is stamped three times onto Whisper White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiments are cut out using Paper Snips and adhered to three of the stars using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think? It’s a great colour combination, isn’t it?! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

See A Silhouette Card

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I would like to share with you a card I created for a Sketch Challenge. The sketch is shown below. If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in, you can visit the CAS(E) this Sketch website here.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Label Me Bold Stamp Set. Here is my project…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a slightly smaller layer of Poppy Parade cardstock and a smaller again layer of the See A Silhouette DSP.

I have cut two pieces of the DSP using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and these are adhered to the left hand side of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I have also heat embossed a few of the pattern stamps from the same stamp set. The sentiment piece is cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This is such a quick and simple card to create but the bright colours of the See A Silhouette DSP really give it a fun and cheerful feel.
