Forever Greenery DSP Cards

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you these Forever Greenery DSP Cards. The 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue is full of gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s difficult to choose a favourite and difficult to decide which to buy. If you don’t want to choose, check out my HCHC Paper Share 2020.

DSP is a great buy because the designs are so fabulous that they do most of the work for you if you want to make a quick and simple card but they also lend themselves to really stepped-up cards. Today I’m sharing two really quick and simple cards.

If you would prefer to watch me create the cards, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Stampin' Up! Forever Greenery DSP Cards by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make them…

The (standard A6) card bases are created from Pretty Peacock cardstock. In both cases, this is followed by a layer of the Stampin’ Up! Forever Greenery DSP measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

The sentiments are stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the 2″ Circle Punch. The ‘sending healing hugs’ sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! So Sentimental Stamp Set and the ‘from my heart to yours’ sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Stamp Set.

The sentiments are adhered to circles of Pretty Peacock cardstock cut out using the 2.25″ Circle Punch.

The Sprig Punch has been used to cut out pieces of cardstock in the main Suite Colours: Garden Green, Just Jade, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam. Three sprigs were adhered to the back of each sentiment piece and the whole piece adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Forever Greenery DSP Cards?

The great thing about DSP is that if you really love a Suite but your budget doesn’t stretch to the whole thing, you can get the same feel by purchasing the DSP and using sentiments from stamp sets you already have, combined with any extra embellishments that coordinate! Real Red Colour Challenge 1

Hello and welcome to Week 1 of my Real Red Colour Challenge. As always, Week 1 is monochrome and I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Bundle. Here is my project…

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Real Red cardstock and this is followed by a slightly smaller Whisper White layer. Onto this Whisper White layer I have applied Shimmery White Embossing Paste through one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks using a Palette Knife.

One of the heart images is stamped in Real Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Heart Punches. The scalloped Heart Punch is then used to cut out a piece of Real Red cardstock and these pieces are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I have cut a length of Real Red Cotton Ribbon and adhered to the card front using Tear & Tape. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red cardstock onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. This is adhered over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The heart piece is adhered to the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue AND to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is added using a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels which I have coloured using the Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blend.

Next time…

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post. join me next time when Real Red will be combined with Coastal Cabana and Old Olive!

Pear Pizzazz Colour Challenge Week 1

As you may know, each month I set myself a Colour Challenge. This involves randomly selecting one of the Stampin’ Up! colours and producing projects to share for each Tuesday of the month. For week 1, I always produce a monochrome project using just the feature colour plus one of Whisper White, Very Vanilla or Basic Black.

My March Colour Challenge features Pear Pizzazz. For the monochrome card I decided to pair (excuse the pun!) it with Very Vanilla.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock and I have followed this with a layer of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The main card front is a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.

I have stamped images from the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the coordinating punches. I have also stamped the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the plain heart punch. The slightly larger scalloped heart punch was used to cut out a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and they were layered together. The hearts were arranged onto the card front and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The whole card front (with punched elements in place) was then embossed using the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder. This technique is called inlaid embossing and its so effective! The final touch was to mount the card front on to the card base and there we have it – a gorgeous card to let someone know how much they mean to you!

Next time…

Next week Pear Pizzazz will be combined with Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below or email me at: helen@papercraftlife.com

Heartfelt Masculine Card

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Monthly Team Blog Hop! We are so happy that you could join us today for this blog hop full of ideas and inspiration. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world that are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up! business and reach some goals we have set. We really appreciate your support.

You may be starting here or you may have come from another blog – either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

Here is the project that I have made for our hop today…

I have used the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Stamp Set and coordinating punches to create this masculine Valentine’s Day card.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I then cut a smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock and embossed it using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder. Using a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker, I created ‘splatters’ down the left hand side of the card. I think this adds a little extra interest and stops the card from looking too stark.

Using the plain punch (non-scalloped) from the Heart Punch pack, I cut four hearts from 6×6″ Neutrals Designer Series Paper (two each of Sahara Sand and Night of Navy). I then adhered these down the right hand side of the card front.

I wrapped a length of Night of Navy / Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine around the card front and adhered behind using Tear & Tape. The card front was then adhered to the card base.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and cut out using the heart punch. This was then adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the use of Sahara Sand cardstock rather than Whisper White here gives a more distressed look and helps with the masculine feel of the card.
