Comfort and Hope Card

Hello and welcome to Week 4 of my Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge. If you have missed the previous challenges, you can find them here… Week 1, Week 2, Week 3. This week Grapefruit Grove is combined with Merry Merlot and Pool Party and I decided to use the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Comfort and Hope Stamp Set. I think everyone needs a Comfort and Hope Card right now!

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Stampin' Up! Comfort and Hope Card

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Merry Merlot cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 12.4 x 8 cm. Onto the Whisper White layer I have stamped one of the images from the Confort and Hope Stamp Set in Grapefruit Grove, Merry Merlot and Pool Party inks.

I have looped a length of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon and adhered it to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.

Stampin' Up! Comfort and Hope Card

The sentiment (also from the Comfort and Hope Stamp Set) is stamped in Merry Merlot ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The rhinestones are stamped in Pool Party ink. The sentiment is cut out using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch and layered onto a piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock cut out with the same punch. This is then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Now I just need to decide who to send my Comfort and Hope Card to! I’m sure you can think of lots of people who deserve a paper hug!

What do you think?

I hope you have enjoyed this Comfort and Hope Card as well as this final look at the fabulous Grapefruit Grove. It will be gone forever in a week’s time! The ink pad is still available at the time of writing (for just £4.20) as well as cardstock and the 2018-2020 In Colour Stampin’ Write Markers (an absolute bargain at £5.50 – that’s 60% off!).

Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge 3

Hello and welcome to Week 3 of my Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge! Don’t forget that as one of the 2018-2020 InColours, Grapefruit Grove will soon be gone forever! So, if you have the ink pad, make sure you have purchased the re-inker and stock up on cardstock and other items while they last.

For Week 3, the colour combination is Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow. This seemed like such a gorgeous spring time combination that I decided to use the Medium Daisy Punch with a lovely, fresh watercolour background.

If you missed Week 1 or 2 you can find them here… Week 1, Week 2

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 14.4 x 10 cm layer of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper to form the main card front.

I have created a watercolour wash on the card front using Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow inks and my Aquapainters.

The three Daisies are created by cutting out 12 pieces of Whisper White cardstock using the Medium Daisy Punch (4 pieces per daisy). The four pieces are all offset slightly from one another and adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The flower centres are created by cutting out pieces of Grapefruit Grove cardstock using the 0.5″ Circle Punch (also retiring soon!). Two of the daisies are adhered directly to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A length of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon is attached to the card front (between the daisies) using a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. A smaller one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies is used to cut out a piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock and these die cuts are layered together. The sentiment piece is adhered with both Stampin’ Dimensionals (to the card front) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (to the daisies).

The final daisy is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals such that it slightly overlaps the sentiment piece.

What do you think?

I hope you like my interpretation of the Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge. Which products would you have used? I think that Grapefruit Grove is a wonderful accent colour and I’m going to miss it more than I thought I would!

Grapefruit Grove Week 2

Hello and welcome to Week 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge. This week the colour combination is: Grapefruit Grove, Poppy Parade and Night of Navy.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Share Sunshine PDF for this card so there is actually no stamping involved! This PDF is a digital stamp set and all proceeds go to organisations supporting the COVID-19 response. To find out more or buy yours, click here.

Although I have produced this card for a specific colour challenge, you could create this card in any colour scheme you want! The same sentiment is available in the PDF in other colours.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then used one of the large Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out pieces of Grapefruit Grove and Poppy Parade DSP.

These pieces of DSP are adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Having printed out the digital stamp set, I cut out the two sections of the sentiment using the appropriate Stitched Rectangle Dies. Each of these was layered onto a larger piece of Night of Navy cardstock (also cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The toilet roll and martini glass images were fussy cut from the printed digital stamp set and adhered to the sentiment pieces.

The final touch is provided by a few Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.

What do you think?

I hope you have enjoyed this light-hearted project! We should all take every opportunity to make someone smile in these difficult times.

Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge Week 1

Hello and welcome to my weekly Colour Challenge. It’s the first Tuesday of the month which means we have a new, randomly selected, colour – the retiring In Colour, Grapefruit Grove. As always, Week 1 is monochrome and I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Under My Umbrella Stamp Set.

Grapefruit Grove doesn’t always stand out that well for whole images or sentiments on Whisper White or Very Vanilla so I decided to do it the other way round!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Grapefruit Grove cardstock and this is followed by a 14.4 x 10 cm layer of Grapefruit Grove cardstock.

I have heat embossed the various floral images from the stamp set onto the card front using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A length of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon is then attached to the card front using one of the Mini Library Clips. This layer is then adhered to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment and rain drops are also heat embossed onto Grapefruit Grove cardstock using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The next largest die is used to cut out a piece of the Grapefruit Grove 6×6″ DSP. These two rectangles are layered together and adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

What do you think?

I hope you like my project. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com
