Stitched Stars Wreath

Hello and welcome to part 4 of my Stampin’ Up! So Many Stars bundle showcase. If you missed them, you can find the previous instalments here (part 1, part 2, part 3).

This week I wanted to show you another home décor piece because these are so popular at this time of year and can be expensive to buy. However, they can be simple to make yourself and, if you have the correct products, are guaranteed to impress your friends.

For this project you will need a basic, undecorated, wreath which can be picked up relatively cheaply in craft stores at this time of year.

Let’s make it…

The colour scheme that I chose for my wreath is Whisper White, Silver Foil and Sparkle Glimmer. I think this is a great combination but something like Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce and Gold Foil would also look great. Alternatively, use whichever colours go best with your festive décor.

I used the Stitched Stars dies to cut a number of different sized stars from Whisper White cardstock, Silver Foil Sheets and Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I adhered these to the wreath using a glue gun.

The sentiment is from the So Many Stars stamp set and the sentiment piece was created by heat embossing onto Silver Foil Sheets using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This was then cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. A larger Stitched Rectangle was cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and layered behind the sentiment piece. A length of Silver Metallic Thread is attched to the back of the sentiment piece and the whole piece is adhered to the wreath using a glue gun.

The final touch is added with a length of Whisper White ribbon which allows the wreath to be hung up anywhere around the house.

Christmas Sparkle!

This week’s edition of my Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Plaid bundle showcase features this gorgeous, sparkly card! The previous three instalments have featured cards, tags and paper garlands. You can find them here (part 1, part 2, part 3) if you haven’t already seen them.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White cardstock and I have chosen to create a square card for a change. Onto a slightly smaller Night of Navy layer I have stamped the Birch background in Whisper White ink.

Since its Christmas, I have broken out the Glimmer Paper again too! This time I have used the Silver and punched out a circle using the 5.7cm Circle Punch and the Pine Tree. Sandwiched between these two layers is a piece of Night of Navy cardstock cut out using the Starburst Punch. I have added bow created from a length of Night of Navy Baker’s Twine (now retired) to the tree. If you don’t have any of this twine left over you could colour the Whisper White Baker’s Twine using the dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend.

The sentiment piece is created by stamping onto Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy ink. As well as the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set I have stamped some snowflakes from the Frosted Foliage stamp set. This is then cut out using the Stitched Rectangles dies. The final touch is provided by a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the centre of one of the snowflakes.
