Nautical Father’s Day Card

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share with you a Nautical Father’s Day card that I created using a number of different Stampin’ Up! products. Often I stick to a particular bundle when creating cards but in this example I have used three different Stamp Sets and two different Die Sets!

I hope you like my Pacific Point Nautical Father’s Day Card. I think it has a real sailing feel without a boat in sight!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut a strip of Pacific Point cardstock measuring 14.9 x 7.3 cm and adhered it centrally to the card base.

I used the Stamparatus to create a background pattern onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock measuring 14.9 x 7.1 cm. The stamp is from the Pattern Play Stamp Set and I’ve used the hinge-step technique to stamp it repeatedly in Pacific Point ink. As you can see, I’ve used multi-generation stamping to produce different depths of colour. This strip is adhered to the Pacific Point strip using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Stamparatus is perfect for this technique and makes it so easy to produce this kind of effect. If you are interested in purchasing the Stamparatus, why not consider adding it to a Starter Kit during June and you’ll be able to choose £130 worth of product plus a FREE bundle for just £99. The die cut ‘happy’ is from the Well Written Die Set and is cut out of Pacific Point cardstock – I used the Adhesive Sheets to help adhere this to the card.

The large label is from the Tasteful Labels Die Set and is cut out of Pacific Point cardstock. I have trimmed the edge using my Paper Trimmer such that it sits flush with the edge of the card base. The horizontal banner is from the same Die Set and is used to cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Onto this I have stamped ‘Father’s Day’ from the Well Said Stamp Set and the ‘chevrons’ from the Pattern Play Stamp Set. Both are stamped in Pacific Point but I have stamped off first with the ‘chevrons’.

The final sentiment is from the Round of Applause Stamp Set and I have heat embossed it onto Pacific Point cardstock using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This is then cut out using the other banner from the Tasteful Labels Die Set.

The final touch is provided by some ‘splatter’ which I created using the Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker.

Country Club Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card made using the Stampin’ Up! Country Club DSP. This DSP, and the rest of the Suite, is perfect for the golfers in your life.

I have chosen to create a Father’s Day card but you could adapt it for any occasion.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Crushed Curry cardstock and I have then cut a slightly smaller layer of the Country Club DSP. The next layer is a Crushed Curry cardstock frame which I created using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I have cut another piece of the DSP to create a ‘flag’ or ‘banner’ shape and adhered this to both the frame (using Multipurpose Liquid Glue) and the card front (using Stampin’ Dimensionals).

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock. This is cut out using the coordinating Garage Gears Dies. The sentiment piece is adhered to the banner using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To provide extra embellishments I have fussy-cut a few of the golf balls from the DSP and adhered around the frame and sentiment piece.

I really liked the format of this card so I decided to make a few variations on the same theme. Look out for up coming blog posts featuring the other two cards.

Nautical Father’s Day Card

Hello and welcome to part 3 of my Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Suite Showcase. If you have missed the first two parts you can find them here (part 1 – Come Sail Away Card, part 2 – Come Sail Away Decoration).

This week I wanted to share another card with you which is perfect for Father’s Day, male Birthdays or any occasion for those who love the sea or boats.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have then cut a slightly smaller layer of Whisper White cardstock. To this I adhered strips of cardstock in the current Stampin’ Up! blues and blue/greens. These were: Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray.

The sentiment was created using the Well Said Stamp Set and coordinating Well Written dies. ‘Father’s Day’ was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy ink and cut out using the banner die from the Smooth Sailing dies. This was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. ‘Happy’ was die cut multiple times from Whisper White cardstock and layered together to create one thick sentiment. This was adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The nautical images (lighthouse, boat, compass and anchor) were stamp in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating dies (1.5″ Circle Punch for the compass). The boat, compass and anchor were adhered directly to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue whilst the lighthouse was adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Paper strips are a really simple but effective way to create a background. You can experiment with different widths and different colour combinations to suit your project.

Next time…

I hope you have enjoyed this instalment of my Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Suite Showcase. Join me next time for more inspiration.

More ideas for masculine makes

Yesterday, we had a look at some new bundles which could be used for masculine makes (you can read that here) and today we will continue with the inspiration by looking at a couple of new Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and a few carry-over products.

Garden Shed…

First up is the brand new Garden Shed stamp set which is great for all those gardeners, fettlers and man-cave dwellers! Whatever they get up to in there I’m sure they’ll appreciate projects made with these great stamps. The illustrations are a fabulous opportunity to get your colouring mediums out but look equally effective when left un-coloured.

A Good Man…

Then we have A Good Man which has some really uplifting sentiments to show those guys how great they are and how much you appreciate them. Unleash your creativity and colour the hair, skin and clothing to match the recipient and they’ll know how heart-felt your message is.

Carry Over Products…

As well as these new products, don’t forget Rooted in Nature, Best Catch and Geared Up Garage are all carrying over to cover the car, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts.

I’m sure you can find something suitable there but if not there are tons of other products to choose from so why not take a look in my online shop?! Click on any of the images below and you’ll head straight there.
