Dots and Circles Everywhere!

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share a card with you that I created by colouring embossing paste with reinkers! It’s a really fun technique and allows you to add lots of colour and dimension (and sparkle too if you use the Stampin’ Up! Shimmery White Embossing Paste like I did!).

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Old Olive cardstock measuring 9.7 x 14.1 cm. The main card front is a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

The Shimmery White Embossing Paste is coloured with Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink. To do this, a put three little mounds of embossing paste onto my Silicone Craft Sheet and added a drop of reinker to each. You might find it best to do each one in turn to ensure that the embossing paste doesn’t become too hard while you are applying the other colours.

The ‘dotty’ Basic Pattern Decorative Mask was placed on top of my card front and fixed in place using washi tape. The embossing paste was then applied using a Palette Knife. I started with the Coastal Cabana in the bottom right hand corner, then the Highland Heather towards the middle of the card and finally the Gorgeous Grape towards the top left.

Lengths of Old Olive (Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack) and Coastal Cabana (Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack) ribbons are attached to the card front using a staple. This is one of my favourite ways to incorporate more than one type of ribbon into a card.

The sentiment (from the Stampin’ Up! Lovely You Stamp Set) is stamped in Highland Heather ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. This is then layered onto a larger circle of Grey Granite cardstock.

The final touch is provided by a few Pearl Basic Jewels which have been coloured with the Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

Real Red Colour Challenge 1

Hello and welcome to Week 1 of my Real Red Colour Challenge. As always, Week 1 is monochrome and I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Bundle. Here is my project…

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Real Red cardstock and this is followed by a slightly smaller Whisper White layer. Onto this Whisper White layer I have applied Shimmery White Embossing Paste through one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks using a Palette Knife.

One of the heart images is stamped in Real Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Heart Punches. The scalloped Heart Punch is then used to cut out a piece of Real Red cardstock and these pieces are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I have cut a length of Real Red Cotton Ribbon and adhered to the card front using Tear & Tape. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red cardstock onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. This is adhered over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The heart piece is adhered to the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue AND to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is added using a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels which I have coloured using the Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blend.

Next time…

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post. join me next time when Real Red will be combined with Coastal Cabana and Old Olive!
