Tasteful Touches Wood Grain Card

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you my Tasteful Touches Wood Grain Card. For this card I have used the technique of stamping onto Designer Series Paper (DSP) which I think is under-used!

Stamping on Designer Series Paper using Stampin' Up! In Good Taste Suite - card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Early Espresso cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. Next is a layer of the Stampin’ Up! In Good Taste DSP, measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm, which forms the main card front.

Onto the card front I have stamped the flower image from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set in Early Espresso ink. I have then wrapped a length of Scalloped Lace Trim around the card front (adhering at the back using Tear & Tape) before adhering to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A piece of Early Espresso cardstock is cut out using the large label from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Labels Dies. I have trimmed the die cut to give a straight edge and adhered it to the card front, under the ribbon, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using another of the labels from the Tasteful Labels Dies.

Three of the In Good Taste Elements have been adhered to the back of the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. This piece if then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to the Stamping on Designer Series Paper technique?

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Tasteful Touches Wood Grain Card. Do you use the stamping on Designer Series Paper technique? If not, I hope I have convinced you to try something new.

I think this card is really effective but is actually pretty simple to make! The DSP does most of the work for you and the addition of the Lace Trim and wooden elements make it stand out from the crowd!

Forever Greenery DSP Cards

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you these Forever Greenery DSP Cards. The 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue is full of gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s difficult to choose a favourite and difficult to decide which to buy. If you don’t want to choose, check out my HCHC Paper Share 2020.

DSP is a great buy because the designs are so fabulous that they do most of the work for you if you want to make a quick and simple card but they also lend themselves to really stepped-up cards. Today I’m sharing two really quick and simple cards.

If you would prefer to watch me create the cards, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make them…

The (standard A6) card bases are created from Pretty Peacock cardstock. In both cases, this is followed by a layer of the Stampin’ Up! Forever Greenery DSP measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

The sentiments are stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the 2″ Circle Punch. The ‘sending healing hugs’ sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! So Sentimental Stamp Set and the ‘from my heart to yours’ sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Stamp Set.

The sentiments are adhered to circles of Pretty Peacock cardstock cut out using the 2.25″ Circle Punch.

The Sprig Punch has been used to cut out pieces of cardstock in the main Suite Colours: Garden Green, Just Jade, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam. Three sprigs were adhered to the back of each sentiment piece and the whole piece adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Forever Greenery DSP Cards?

The great thing about DSP is that if you really love a Suite but your budget doesn’t stretch to the whole thing, you can get the same feel by purchasing the DSP and using sentiments from stamp sets you already have, combined with any extra embellishments that coordinate! Making Custom Envelopes

Hello and welcome! This is a very quick blog post to accompany my recent video tutorial about making custom envelopes for your handmade cards. If you haven’t seen the video, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch it.

I really enjoy making custom envelopes because it enables you to match the envelope to the card perfectly! They also create a real impact with the recipient because it is obvious that you’ve gone ‘above and beyond’ on their behalf.

Here is the image of the template that I used. You can apply the same principle to other sizes of card. You are only really restrict by the size of Designer Series Paper (DSP) you are using.
