Seaside Spray Colour Challenge 4

Seaside Spray Colour Challenge 4

Hello and welcome to Week 4 of my Stampin’ Up! Seaside Spray Colour Challenge. If you have missed the previous projects you can find them here… Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3. This week’s colour combination is: Seaside Spray, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron. The decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Daisy Lane Stamp Set as it’s a while since I’ve played with it (and it’s lovely).

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm, which forms the main card front.

Onto the card front I have stamped the foliage image, repeatedly, in Pear Pizzazz ink down the right hand side of the card front. The sentiment (It’s Your Time To Shine) is stamped, repeatedly, in So Saffron ink down the left hand side of the card front. I have used multiple generations of stamping for the sentiment.

The large daisy is stamped twice in Seaside Spray ink and the smaller daisy is stamped four times. These are cut out using the coordinating Daisy and Medium Daisy Punches. They are then layered together in pairs and adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. You can see from the photo that I have gently shaped the petals of the smaller daisies to add dimension.

The final touch is provided by a few Elegant Faceted Gems (Pearlescent White). These are a great way to add a really subtle hint of sparkle.

What do you think to my Seaside Spray Colour Challenge 4 Card?

Both the current sets of In Colours are fabulous and Seaside Spray is one of my favourites from the 2019-2021 Collection. I hope you like my Seaside Spray Colour Challenge 4 Card and the re-visit to the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.

Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge 3

Hello and welcome to Week 3 of my Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge! Don’t forget that as one of the 2018-2020 InColours, Grapefruit Grove will soon be gone forever! So, if you have the ink pad, make sure you have purchased the re-inker and stock up on cardstock and other items while they last.

For Week 3, the colour combination is Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow. This seemed like such a gorgeous spring time combination that I decided to use the Medium Daisy Punch with a lovely, fresh watercolour background.

If you missed Week 1 or 2 you can find them here… Week 1, Week 2

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 14.4 x 10 cm layer of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper to form the main card front.

I have created a watercolour wash on the card front using Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow inks and my Aquapainters.

The three Daisies are created by cutting out 12 pieces of Whisper White cardstock using the Medium Daisy Punch (4 pieces per daisy). The four pieces are all offset slightly from one another and adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The flower centres are created by cutting out pieces of Grapefruit Grove cardstock using the 0.5″ Circle Punch (also retiring soon!). Two of the daisies are adhered directly to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A length of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon is attached to the card front (between the daisies) using a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. A smaller one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies is used to cut out a piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock and these die cuts are layered together. The sentiment piece is adhered with both Stampin’ Dimensionals (to the card front) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (to the daisies).

The final daisy is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals such that it slightly overlaps the sentiment piece.

What do you think?

I hope you like my interpretation of the Grapefruit Grove Colour Challenge. Which products would you have used? I think that Grapefruit Grove is a wonderful accent colour and I’m going to miss it more than I thought I would!

SU Garden Lane DSP Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I created for a sketch challenge. The challenge was hosted by The Spot. You can find out more about these challenges, see the other entries and join in here.

The sketch for the challenge is shown below.

I decided to combined the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Garden Lane DSP with Daisies created using the Daisy and Medium Daisy Punches.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card simply scroll to the bottom of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Mossy Meadow cardstock. This is followed by a layer of the Stampin’ Up! Garden Lane DSP; and, to fit with the sketch, a band of another sheet of the DSP.

The Daisies are cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Daisy and Medium Daisy Punches. The centres are cut from Mango Melody cardstock using the 0.5″ Circle Punch. The Leaf Punch is used to cut leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock. Punched leaves are adhered to the back of the large daisy and one of the smaller daisies and these are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped onto Mossy Meadow cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The sentiment is from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and is cut out using the coordinating Stitched Labels Dies.

A length of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread is tied in a bow through the holes in the die cut. The final small daisy is shaped and adhered to the die cut using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the whole sentiment piece is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think the contrast between the rich Mossy Meadow and bright Whisper White looks great and the small elements of Mango Melody just add that finishing touch.
