Rainbow Graduation Card

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you my Rainbow Graduation Card! I’ve been having a lot of fun with the Stampin’ Up! Round of Applause Stamp Set recently – it’s great for any type of Congratulations card but the cute mortar board image and wonderful sentiments mean it’s perfect for Graduation Cards.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Basic Black cardstock measuring 10.2 x 14.6 cm. The main card front is a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

Using the Stamparatus and the hinge-step technique, I stamped the ‘you did it!’ sentiment five times, in Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape inks. If you are not familiar with the Stamparatus or the hinge-step technique, take a look at my video here.

I cut pieces of Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape cardstock into pieces measuring 3 x 2.5 cm and adhered them to the card front such that they aligned with the sentiment stamped in the same colour.

The mortar board image was stamped five times in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut.

Splatters of colour were created on the card front using Stampin’ Write Markers (Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape). To do this you use the brush tip end of the marker and flick it from just inside the lid, against the edge of the lid.

Four of the mortar boards were adhered to the cardstock squares (Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point) using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final mortar board was adhered just above the Gorgeous Grape sentiment, also using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think to my Rainbow Graduation Card?

I hope you like my Rainbow Graduation Card. Rainbows are used more and more at the moment as a symbol of hope and encouragement which I thought would be perfect for a Graduation Card.

Congratulations on your Graduation!

Hello and welcome! Many graduation ceremonies have been postponed or even cancelled this year so I thought I really bright and cheerful card to say ‘Congratulations on your Graduation’ was in order.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Round of Applause Stamp Set with its really cute little mortar board and lovely, fancy, congratulations sentiment. Because I wanted something really bright and bold I combined this with the Pattern Play Stamp Set to create the fabulous background pattern.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can see the video tutorial.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Magenta Madness cardstock – isn’t this new colour just gorgeous. I thought Melon Mambo was bright and bold but this takes it a step further! This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the striped background using the hinge step technique to alternate between Magenta Madness and Just Jade inks. I took lengths of the Magenta Madness and Just Jade In Colour Ribbons and stapled them to the Whisper White layer.

The sentiment is stamped in Just Jade ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the banner from the Tasteful Touches Die Set. I have also cut a piece of Just Jade cardstock using the same die and layered these together. The mortar board is stamped in Magenta Madness ink onto Whisper White cardstock, fussy-cut and adhered to the sentiment banner. The whole sentiment piece is then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Granny Apple Green Colour Challenge 2

Hello and welcome to Week 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Granny Apple Green Colour Challenge! This week the combination is: Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy and Real Red. I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Round Of Applause Stamp Set as I wanted to send a Congratulations card to someone who has been amazing recently. I hope you like my Round Of Applause Card and I hope they do too!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Night of Navy cardstock. I have then used a layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 6 x 14.9 cm. Onto this layer I have repeatedly stamped the sentiment – ‘you can do anything (obviously)’ in Granny Apple Green ink.

The main sentiment and wreath are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched Shapes dies. The wreath is coloured in using the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

The floral image is stamped three times in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. These are coloured using the Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy and Real Red Stampin’ Blends and then fussy-cut. The floral images are adhered to the back of the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A length of Night of Navy Ribbon (from the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack) is adhered to the card front using Tear & Tape. The sentiment piece is then adhered over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is to create an insert with the ‘congratulations’ sentiment stamped in Night of Navy ink and the floral image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured as above.

What do you think?

I love my Colour Challenges as it means that I use combinations that I wouldn’t generally choose. Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy go together surprisingly well and I love the little hints of Real Red. Do you like my Round Of Applause Card?

SU Noble Peacock Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I create for the Stampin’ Senorita’s Team Challenge.

It was a sketch challenge and I decided to showcase one of the retiring InColours – Blueberry Bushel.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock and this is followed by a layer of the Blueberry Bushel Noble Peacock Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I have adhered a strip of Whisper White cardstock across the card to comply with the sketch. I have then created two banner shapes – one using the DSP and one from Whisper White cardstock. These have been slightly offset and adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greeting Stamp Set and is stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment is cut out using the Classic Label Punch.

Lengths of Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon and Silver Metallic Thread are adhered to the back of the sentiment piece using Tear & Tape. The whole piece is then adhered to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think Blueberry Bushel is the colour I will miss most from the 2018-2020 InColours. Which is your favourite?
