Quick and Simple Baby Card

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share with you a really quick and simple card to welcome a new baby. I have used a really clean and subtle colour palette for this card, I hope you like it! It’s perfect for those of you who don’t yet have a die cutting machine too as you only need a paper trimmer!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 10 x 14.4 cm layer of Whisper White standard cardstock.

The sentiment that I have used is from the Stampin’ Up! So Sentimental Stamp Set. I have cut 6 squares of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3 x 3 cm and stamped the sentiment onto them in the following colours: Pool Party, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride. The squares are adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

I think this card would look great in a number of different colour schemes – you could even just use one ink colour and then just put one of the squares on dimensionals to help it stand out.

What do you think?

I hope you like my project. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

SU Magnolia Lane Card

Hello and welcome! Today I wanted to share with you a card I created using the Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Suite. This is a gorgeous Suite and I loved it as soon as I saw it but, for some reason, I haven’t used it as much as I should have!

The inspiration for this card came from a sketch challenge hosted by CAS(E) This Sketch – click the link to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in! The sketch for this challenge is shown below…

I decided to use the Magnolia Lane Suite as I thought the Designer Series Paper (DSP) would work really well with this sketch. Here is my card…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Petal Pink cardstock. This is followed by a 10.2 x 14.6 cm layer or Basic Black cardstock.

I have then cut two pieces of the Magnolia Lane DSP as suggested by the sketch.

The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Petal Pink cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The flower is cut out of Basic Black cardstock using the Magnolia Memory Dies and adhered to the back of the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The whole piece is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Pearl Basic Jewels which have been coloured with the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.

SU Ornate Garden Card

Hello and welcome! Recently, Stampin’ Up! have been issuing weekly Colour Challenges to demonstrators. I’m a little bit behind but here is one I have taken part in…

The challenge involves making a project using any combination of the colours shown. I decided to use Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape. Here is my project…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 10.2 x 14.6 cm layer of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. The main card front is a 10 x 14.4 cm layer of Whisper White cardstock.

Onto the card front I have heat embossed the gorgeous, large image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set using Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder (white would work equally well). I have then used a Sponge Brayer to colour over the image; using both Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape inks to create a blended effect.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The frame is cut out of Lovely Lipstick cardstock using one of the Ornate Layers Dies. These two pieces are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few of the Lovely Lipstick Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.
