You Are Simply Wonderful

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you a card I made for the May SU! Colour Challenge on Facebook. This Colour Challenge Card uses the combination: Silver, Pretty Peacock, Melon Mambo, Basic Grey and So Saffron. I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating Budding Blooms Dies.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Basic Grey cardstock. This is followed by a 10.2 x 14.6 cm Basic Grey layer.

One of the images from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The berries are coloured using the Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends and the flowers are coloured using the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends Combo. The image is then cut out using one of the Budding Blooms Dies.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock is cut out using one of the Layering Circles Dies. I have created a splatter effect on the die cut using the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker. I have layered the floral image onto this die cut and then onto the card front (so that it overlaps the edge) using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and trimmed off the excess using Paper Snips.

A length of Silver Metallic Thread is wound around and adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Melon Mambo cardstock and trimmed to 3.3 x 10.4 cm using the Paper Trimmer. This piece is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a combination of Silver Metallic Pearls and Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots.

I think the touches of Melon Mambo really make all the difference on this card – it’s such a fabulous, fun colour! I love creating Colour Challenge Cards because they encourage me to use colour combinations that I wouldn’t normally think of.

SU Good Morning Magnolia Card

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you a card I created for a sketch challenge hosted by CAS(E) this Sketch. You can see the inspiration below…

If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or take part, you can visit the website here.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set in combination with the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). I hope you like my project…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Mint Macaron cardstock. This is followed by a 14.4 x 10 cm layer of Mint Macaron cardstock. To adhere to the sketch I have used 2.5cm wide strips of the Garden Lane DSP at the top and bottom of the card front.

The magnolia image is stamped in Mint Macaron ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured using the Mint Macaron and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Combos. I decided to fussy-cut the image rather than die cutting because I didn’t want any white space around the image.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Mint Macaron cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. The magnolia image is then layered onto this using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A piece of Early Espresso cardstock is cut out using the 2.25″ Circle Punch. The sentiment is adhered to this using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the whole piece adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think the combination of Mint Macaron and Early Espresso works really well and allows the Flirty Flamingo flower to really pop out from the card!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 13.9 x 9.5 cm layer of Whisper White cardstock which is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A number of images from the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set are stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out using the coordinating Budding Blooms Dies.

These die cuts are adhered between three further layers – Seaside Spray DSP (9 x 8 cm), Whisper White cardstock embossing using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder (9 x 6 cm) and Rococo Rose DSP (8.5 x 5.5 cm).

The tag is created using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch from a piece of Whisper White cardstock (the scallops are created using one of the Budding Blooms Dies) and a piece of Seaside Spray DSP. The sentiment is from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

A length of Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon is threaded through the top of the tag and secured using a length of Linen Thread. The tag is then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SU Rooted In Nature Card

Hello and welcome! I am delighted to say that I recently won an AAA Cards Challenge! If you would like to look back at the winning card, you can find it here. Having won the challenge, I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the latest challenge. Of course, I said yes!

The challenge rules are shown in the graphic below. You can visit the AAA Cards website to find out more about these challenges, view the entries or take part yourself.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and to include the optional twist in my design. I hope you like it…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6 size) card base is created from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm.

Onto this Whisper White card front I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the bottom left hand corner.

I stamped the small leaf image three times, in Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride and Balmy Blue ink. I used a simple mask to ensure that the images didn’t pass the one third point.

I think this is such a clean and fresh colour combination, even if a little unexpected for leaves!
