You Are Simply Wonderful

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you a card I made for the May SU! Colour Challenge on Facebook. This Colour Challenge Card uses the combination: Silver, Pretty Peacock, Melon Mambo, Basic Grey and So Saffron. I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating Budding Blooms Dies.

Colour Challenge Card using the Stampin' Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set - Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Basic Grey cardstock. This is followed by a 10.2 x 14.6 cm Basic Grey layer.

One of the images from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The berries are coloured using the Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends and the flowers are coloured using the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends Combo. The image is then cut out using one of the Budding Blooms Dies.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock is cut out using one of the Layering Circles Dies. I have created a splatter effect on the die cut using the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker. I have layered the floral image onto this die cut and then onto the card front (so that it overlaps the edge) using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and trimmed off the excess using Paper Snips.

A length of Silver Metallic Thread is wound around and adhered to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Melon Mambo cardstock and trimmed to 3.3 x 10.4 cm using the Paper Trimmer. This piece is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a combination of Silver Metallic Pearls and Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots.

I think the touches of Melon Mambo really make all the difference on this card – it’s such a fabulous, fun colour! I love creating Colour Challenge Cards because they encourage me to use colour combinations that I wouldn’t normally think of.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 13.9 x 9.5 cm layer of Whisper White cardstock which is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A number of images from the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set are stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out using the coordinating Budding Blooms Dies.

These die cuts are adhered between three further layers – Seaside Spray DSP (9 x 8 cm), Whisper White cardstock embossing using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder (9 x 6 cm) and Rococo Rose DSP (8.5 x 5.5 cm).

The tag is created using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch from a piece of Whisper White cardstock (the scallops are created using one of the Budding Blooms Dies) and a piece of Seaside Spray DSP. The sentiment is from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

A length of Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon is threaded through the top of the tag and secured using a length of Linen Thread. The tag is then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SU Bloom & Grow Card

Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you a card I create for a colour challenge hosted by The Spot. The challenge was to create a project using the colours Petal Pink and Grey Granite plus use some sort of Metallics – foil, glimmer paper, embellishments etc. If you would like to find out more about these challenges, see the other entries or join in please visit the website linked above.

If you would prefer to watch me create the card simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.

I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Bloom & Grow Stamp Set and coordinating Budding Blooms Dies…

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Grey Granite cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Petal Pink cardstock which I have embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The three large images from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set are stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I have coloured parts of the images using the Grey Granite and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.

The leaf die from Budding Blooms is used to cut three small pieces of Silver Glimmer Paper. These are adhered to the back of one of the large die cuts using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Two of the large images are adhered directly to the card front and the third is adhered on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Grey Granite ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the small label from the Stitched Labels Dies. This is adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I hope you like my project! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

Bloom and Grow Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of my Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow Stamp Set Showcase! Last week we created a really simple card using just the Stamp Set and some basic supplies. This week we are stepping it up a little and will incorporate the coordinating Budding Blooms Dies.

The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I have also included another layer of Whisper White cardstock and wrapped a length of Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon around it. The sentiment is also stamped on to this layer in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock I have stamped one of the floral images, also in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This image has then been coloured using the Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends Combos, and die cut using the Stampin’ Up! Budding Blooms Die Set.

The final touch is created using a few of the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots. I really like the clean look of this card with quite a bit of white space and a few pops of colour. Adding the sentiment at an unusual angle also adds a bit of interest and helps your card stand out from the rest.

Next time…

I hope you’ll join me next time as I create more projects using the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow Stamp Set.
