How to Mask and Sponge a Rainbow Poppy Card

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you a gorgeous, bright and cheerful card. Read on to find out how to mask and sponge a Rainbow Poppy Card.

Mask and sponge Rainbow Poppy card by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts featuring the Stampin' Up! Painted Poppy Stamp Set

Firstly, create a (standard A6) card base from Whisper White Thick cardstock. Next you will need a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 13.4 x 9 cm. This piece will form the main card front.

Use the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies Stamp Set to stamp the main image, twice, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then create a mask by cutting a circle from a piece of scrap cardstock. I used the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Die Set.

With your mask in place, use a Sponge Brayer to apply ink to different parts of the image. The colours I used were: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody.

Heat emboss the sentiment in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Basic Black Cardstock. I used a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set. Cut out the sentiment using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Die Set. Make sure that the sentiment is placed towards the bottom left of the die cut. Adhere the circle to the card front and trim with Paper Snips. Finally, adhere the card front to the card base.

What do you think to my Rainbow Poppy Card?

I hope you enjoyed finding out how to mask and sponge a Rainbow Poppy card! Don’t you think that this is a really bright and cheerful card? You could always change the colour scheme or even just use the same colour for all of the sponging to get a completely different look.

Seaside Spray Colour Challenge Week 3

Hello and welcome to my Stampin’ Up! Seaside Spray Colour Challenge 3. If you missed the first two projects, you can find them here… Week 1, Week 2. This week the colour combination is: Seaside Spray, Pacific Point and Calypso Coral. This seemed like a tropical colour combination so I chose to use the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Stamp Set…

Let’s make it…

The (standards A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. I then cut strips of Seaside Spray, Pacific Point and Calypso Coral cardstock to 10 x 4.5 cm. These strips were adhered together, on the back, using Tear & Tape.

Next, I heat embossed the large flower twice using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The panel was then cut out using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The sentiment is also heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out using another of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. This is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hello Pattern Play Bundle

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like you to say ‘Hello’ to the Stampin’ Up! Pattern Play Bundle! Last week I introduced you to the Playing with Patterns Suite and used the Pattern Play Stamp Set to create this card. Today we are adding in the coordinating Playful Alphabet Dies.

Everyone needs an alphabet die set in their craft stash and this was is fabulous. The letters are a great size for using on so many paper craft projects – cards, scrapbooking, home decor, etc. You get numbers too which means you can take the personalisation even further! For today’s card I wanted it to feel like the letters were on balloons, floating at different heights across the card and spelling out ‘hello’.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm, onto which I adhered strips of Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Purple Posy cardstock (the Playing With Patterns Suite colours).

Across the card front I have heat embossed the ‘dots’ stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Circles of each of the Suite Colours are cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies. The letters are also cut from the Suite Colours using the Playful Alphabet Dies. Each letter is adhered to one of the circles using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then on to the card from using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Did you enjoy saying Hello to the Pattern Play Bundle?

I hope you like this Hello Pattern Play Bundle Card. This bundle, and the rest of the Suite, just cries out for gorgeous, bright and cheerful cards. I think it’s a great bundle for kids cards, teenager cards and, of course, for creating personalised projects. I’m sure we all know someone who has an unusual name or unusual spelling of a more common name – they normally miss out on personalised items but you can change that!

Playing With Patterns Card

Hello and welcome to a brand new Stampin’ Up! Suite Showcase. This month I will be featuring the Playing With Patterns Suite. Before I show you my Playing With Patterns Card, let’s take a look at what’s in the Suite…

Suite Introduction…

The Stampin’ Up! Playing With Patterns Suite (shown above) consists of:

You can purchase the whole Suite or any combination of the individual elements.

The Suite Colours are: Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Purple Posy – such a vibrant, fun combination!

Each week I’ll bring you inspiration using this Suite. This week we are starting with a card which is suitable for those who have only purchased the stamp set. Next week we will include the dies; in Week 3 we will also add in the DSP and in the final week I’ll show you a project using the whole Suite. This way there should be plenty of inspiration for everyone, no matter what the budget.

Week 1: simple stamping…

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Purple Posy cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm which forms the main card front.

I have stamped images from the Stampin’ Up! Pattern Play Stamp Set in some of the Suite Colours – Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy. I have mirrored the stamping from top to bottom which leaves a central band of white space.

The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White cardstock and this is trimmed to 10 x 1.5 cm. I have also decorated the sentiment piece with the circles image stamped in Coastal Cabana. This strip is adhered to a piece of Purple Posy cardstock which has been trimmed to 10 x 2 cm. The whole sentiment piece is then adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped everything by hand because I wasn’t worried about everything looking perfect as the images on the stamps themselves are not perfectly level or symmetrical. However, if you prefer, the Stamparatus would be a great tool for making cards like this one.

What do you think to my Playing With Patterns Card?

I hope you have enjoyed this introduction to the Stampin’ Up! Playing With Patterns Suite and that you like my Playing With Patterns Card. It’s such a fun Suite and lends itself to really bright, colourful projects.
