Stampin' Up! Tasteful Touches - Step It Up Tasteful Touches Cards by Helen Chapman

Step It Up Tasteful Touches

Hello and welcome to ‘Step It Up Tasteful Touches’, the latest edition of my Step It Up Series! This follows on from my Stampin’ Basics Series which looked at everything you need to start your stamping journey and some hints and tips on how to get better results from your stamping. Now we are moving on to the ways in which you can take your projects to the next level!

In each episode we will look at a simple stamping project (just stamps, ink and cardstock needed) and explore different techniques and products that can be used to ‘Step It Up’.

If you would prefer to watch me create the cards, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can find my video tutorial.

Today I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, and this is my ‘simple stamping’ project…

Let’s make it…

For today’s three cards I will be using the Stampin’ Up! Notecards & Envelopes. These are a great option if you are in a rush and don’t want to make your own card base.

I have stamped the flower image from the Stampin’ Up! Tasteful Touches Stamp Set directly onto the notecard in Night of Navy ink.

Pieces of Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock are cut to 6 x 3.2 cm. Onto the Whisper White piece I have stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. This piece is then layered onto the Night of Navy piece to help the sentiment stand out from the card base. These pieces are adhered to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is a really quick and simple card to make and is great for beginners or those short on time. However, what if you are ready it step up your projects or you want to spend a little longer creating a really special card? Well, there are many options and that is the purpose of this series. Today we are going to look at two alternative cards…

Step It Up… Version 1

To step up our cards we are going to use other products from the Stampin’ Up! In Good Taste Suite.

On the second card, the main card front is formed by a piece of Night of Navy cardstock measuring 8.5 x 12.1 cm. This has been embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The flower image has been stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut.

One of the Tasteful Labels Dies has been used to cut out a piece of Vellum Cardstock.

The sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using another of the Tasteful Labels Dies. This piece is layered together with the Vellum and the flower and adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

In version 2, I have cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 8.4 x 12.7 cm and adhered it to the notecard. This is followed by a layer of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP) measuring 8.1 x 11.9 cm.

The flower is, again, stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy-cut.

The larger label die is this time used to cut out a piece of Night of Navy cardstock which has then been embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The sentiment has been stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. The sentiment piece is further decorated by stamping the foliage in Night of Navy ink around it.

The final touch is provided by a few of the In Good Taste Wooden Elements. The foliage pieces are adhered to the back of the flower before the flower is adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
