Stampin’ Up! OnStage Telford, April 2019

The theme for the 2019/20 Annual Catalogue is ‘Creativity is Calling’

I wanted to do a blog post for those of you who are interested in what happens at the OnStage events hosted by Stampin’ Up! every 6 months. These events are only open to demonstrators so its nice to give you a little insight into what we get up to!

I travelled to Telford on Friday to meet up with some Stampin’ friends. We headed for coffee before checking in to the hotel. Its always really nice to see these guys because I’m in a team based in Staffordshire so I tend to see them once a month, at most.

As you can imagine, with about 600 demonstrators attending, Stampin’ Up! had taken over most of Telford so you bumped into people you knew at every turn! This lead to a trip to a cocktail bar (of course?!) before the high-level demonstrators headed to an even more exclusive evening event. Us minions went for dinner to console ourselves and make plans about how to grow our businesses and reach the dizzy heights of CentreStage!

The Saturday morning saw an early start and a hotel breakfast before walking to the venue and joining the queue of extremely excited demonstrators waiting to register and pick up their registration packs. This is only the first set of goodies that we receive during the day but we got a fabulous bag filled with pens, folders, a notebook and a brand new stamp set.

At our team table I also received gifts from my upline (The Sparkly Stamper) and my upline’s upline (The Stamping Senorita). A gorgeous sparkly scarf (as seen in most of the photos of me taken during the day) and a personalised bone folder!

Next comes the swapping! As many of you know, I made just over 50 swaps to take to the event, so I made my way around the room swapping these with other demonstrators. This is great for meeting new people and means I left with 50-odd ready-made samples and sources of inspiration!

The main event involves us finding out about upcoming products and business resources; live demonstrations using brand new catalogue suites; inspirational videos from the founders and CEO of Stampin’ Up!; and training presentations. We also receive our copy of the shiny new catalogue and get to craft with lovely new things! All of this is interspersed by ‘Prize Patrols’ where we win new stamp sets and all-attendee giveaways where we all got a pack of a new DSP called Mosaic Mood.

During lunch and other breaks there are display boards outside the main auditorium outlining the contents of the new product suites and allowing us to get a closer look at the projects created during the live demonstrations.

The day drew to a close at around 6pm and it was out for dinner to chat about the latest news and decide what was going to be first on our wish lists from the new catalogue! It’s a long list! It really is a beautiful catalogue with a wonderful combination of old favourites that have carried over and some beautiful new products. I know there’s going to be something for everyone.

If you have ordered with me in the last 6 months or attend my classes, you will automatically receive a copy (probably next month once I can order them in bulk). Otherwise, if you are not linked to another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and would like a copy, just get in touch and I’ll get one sent out to you.

If you think OnStage sounds like something you would enjoy, consider joining my team to be eligible to attend future events. You will receive at 20% off your Stampin’ Up! orders for at least 3 months and you’ll get £130 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in your starter kit for just £99. Contact me if you’d like to discuss this opportunity.

After 15 years working in the NHS I decided it was time for a change. Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts began in 2017, selling cards and gifts at local craft fairs. In 2018, I also became an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator which allows me to share my passion for papercraft with others via workshops and other events.
