Golden Honey DSP Card

Hello and welcome to the third instalment of my Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee Stamp Set Showcase. If you missed the previous posts, you can find them here… part 1, part 2. This week I really wanted to make a card using the gorgeous Golden Honey Speciality DSP which you can earn for FREE with a £45 spend during the Sale-A-Bration event! If you would like more information about Sale-A-Bration feel free to email me: helen@papercraftlife.com or shop now.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Whisper White thick cardstock and I have followed this with a layer of Basic Black cardstock. The main card front is a piece of Whisper White cardstock which I have stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink with the two flower images from the Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee stamp set. Alternatively, you could use a piece of the DSP which has a very similar design.

I have cut three circles from the DSP using the 2″ circle punch and adhered two of them directly to the card front. The sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Stitched Rectangles. A larger Stitched Rectangle has been cut out of Basic Black and these have been layered together. However, I have offset them to give a slightly different effect.

The third DSP circle is adhered to the sentiment piece. I have also cut out a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Classic Label punch. The cut out was then snipped in half and both sections adhered to the back of the sentiment piece. The whole piece was then adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The black, white and gold foil combination from the DSP has been carried throughout the card and gives a sophisticated look. I think this card is really simple and effective and would be perfect for those people who are not so keen on bright colours.
