Bloom and Grow Part 1

Welcome to the first part of my Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow Stamp Set Showcase. For Part 1 I’m going to show you how I created this really simple card.

Firstly, the card base is created from a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. There is then a Whisper White layer onto which I have stamped in Smoky Slate ink. As you can see, I have masked off part of the cardstock with a sticky note and stamped one of the floral images. To emphasize this, I have used a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker to draw lines at the two masking points.

The sentiment is stamped into the centre of the masked off section, also in Smoky Slate ink. Some of the foliage has been coloured using the Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend. The final touch is a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I think the simplicity of this card mirrors the concept of the sentiment but the use of a few jewels ensures that it still has a little touch of ‘wonderful’ just like the recipient.

Next time…

Next week we will step it up a little and create a card which uses the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow Stamp Set and the coordinating Budding Blooms Dies. I hope you’ll join me again.
