Hello and welcome! Today I would like to share with you this Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala Card created using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch. This is a quick and simple card to make but the addition of the embossed background really makes it look wonderful.

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a 14.4 x 10 cm layer of Highland Heather cardstock. The main card front is a 13.9 x 9.5 cm piece of Whisper White cardstock which has been embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder.

The butterflies are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then ‘in-filled’ using Highland Heather ink. Butterfly Gala is a Two-Step Stamp Set so you get extra stamps to effectively colour in your images! See my video on different types of Stamp Sets for more information. The butterfly bodies are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then the Butterfly Duet Punch was used to cut the images out. The large butterfly is adhered directly to the card front.

The sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. A smaller die is used to cut out a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and these are layered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The small butterfly is adhered to the corner of the sentiment piece and the whole thing adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is provided by a few Glitter Enamel Dots.
