Hello and welcome! I recently needed an Anniversary Card with a fresh, masculine feel. I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home Stamp Set and combine it with a bit of ‘random’ watercolouring! Here’s how it turned out…
If you would prefer to watch me make the card, simply scroll to the end of this blog post where you can watch my video tutorial.
Let’s make it…
The card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock and this is followed by a slightly smaller layer of Pacific Point cardstock. I have then cut a layer of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper which will become the main card front.
A number of the images from the Sailing Home Stamp Set are stamped across the watercolour paper using Versamark ink. I have then heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I did the same with the sentiment which is from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Blossoms Stamp Set.
I next applied water to the areas I wanted to colour using an Aqua Painter. I used three small Clear Acrylic Blocks as palettes for Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Balmy Blue ink. The ink was applied to the wet paper using an Aqua Painter. I also flicked the Aqua Painter to give a few splatters in the white space of the card front.
What do you think? I hope you like it!
