Card for Cat Lovers

Card for cat lovers using the Stampin' Up! Playful Pets DSP by Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts

Hello and welcome! Today I’d like to share with you a card for cat lovers made using the Stampin’ Up! Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP). This DSP is part of the wonderful Playful Pets Suite but you can create fabulous projects just from the DSP and some existing products!

This Suite is definitely on my wish list but at the moment I just have a sample of the DSP. I couldn’t wait to use it so I decided to combine the DSP with other products. I’ve started with a card for cat lovers because I can’t bring myself to cut into the dog paper just yet – it’s just so cute!

Let’s make it…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock. This is followed by a layer of Basic Black cardstock measuring 10 x 14.4 cm. Next is a layer of the gorgeous DSP measuring 9.5 x 13.9 cm.

I have cut out the cluster of hearts from Real Red cardstock using the die from the Stitched Be Mine Die Set. I kept a few of the hearts to one side to use as embellishments later on.

The cat is cut out of Basic Black cardstock using the Cat Punch.

‘Cherished Friend’ is a sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. This is cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. This is adhered to the cat shape using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the whole piece is adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Three of the hearts are then used to embellish the card to provide a finishing touch.

What do you think to my card for cat lovers?

Are you a cat lover? Would you send this card to a cat-loving friend or to your cat?! I’m more of a dog person myself so I’ll soon be making a canine equivalent (if I can make myself cut into the cute DSP).
