All that glimmers…

Like most crafters my Christmas preparation begins a long time before most people even want to hear the word! Have you started your Christmas crafting? I hope that this project will inspire you to start or give you an extra card to add to you to-do list.

The inspiration for today’s project came from the CAS – Colours & Sketches challenge. Follow the link to find out more about the challenges and get lots of inspiration!

If you’re like me, you only break out the Stampin’ Up! Glimmer Paper for VERY special people! So today I wanted to share with you this luxurious Christmas card using Gold Glimmer Paper and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder – double bling!

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Basic Black cardstock, followed by a layer of Gold Glimmer Paper. I know, a whole layer, not just a die-cut element!

I have then heat embossed using VersaMark and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Basic Black cardstock. I have used one of the tree images from the Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set. The trees are then cut out using the coordinating Pine Tree Punch. I really can’t stop playing with this combination! These products are in the new Stampin’ Up! Autumn / Winter catalogue which goes live on 4th September!

I have heat embossed the sentiment on to Basic Black cardstock as above. This sentiment also come from the Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set. I have trimmed the cardstock to size and then used the Tailored Tag Punch to create a banner. The Banner Triple Punch would be a more obvious choice if you have that but I don’t!

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post. Don’t forget to check out CAS – Colours & Sketches. If you have any questions please leave them below or email me at helen@papercraftlife.com

After 15 years working in the NHS I decided it was time for a change. Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts began in 2017, selling cards and gifts at local craft fairs. In 2018, I also became an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator which allows me to share my passion for papercraft with others via workshops and other events.
