Let’s Make It… Simple Triptych Christmas Card

Start with a (standard A6) card base created from Real Red cardstock. Follow this with a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 8.5 x 12.8 cm. Create the three panels using the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper (DSP), each measuring 7.5 x 3.5 cm.

Adhere the three panels to the Whisper White layer, trying to keep the spacing the same throughout. Use a piece of Tear & Tape to attach a length of Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon across the panels.

Thread a length of Real Red Braided Linen Trim through one of the Glitter Star Ornaments. Tie the trim in place and adhere the star to the ribbon using a Mini Glue Dot.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock in Real Red ink and trim to size. Stamp the Christmas Tree and Mug onto Whisper White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink and cut out using the coordinating dies. Adhere one to each end of the sentiment piece.

Use two lengths of Foam Adhesive strips to the back of the sentiment such that they avoid the star and attach to the card front.

Love Birds!

I would like to share with you a card which I created for the CAS(E) this Sketch #340 Challenge. As I drew the sketch into my notebook to ponder on, I saw a pair of birds facing one another. So, the card was born! You can probably tell from the sketch below that my drawing isn’t very good as this is what turned into two birds!

For more details on these challenges and to see the inspiration from the design team and other crafters, visit the website.

Let’s make it…

The cards base is created from Whisper White Thick cardstock and this is followed by a layer of Basic Black cardstock. I have then embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stampin’ Up! Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

The two birds are cut from Basic Black cardstock using the Stampin’ Up! Well Written dies. The sentiment comes from the same set and is also cut from Basic Black cardstock. The birds are adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The finishing touch is provided by a few black gems.

Clean and Simple Merry Christmas

Today I would like to share with you a card I created for the AAA Cards Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge #149. The criteria for this challenge was to use one third or less of the card front to achieve the Clean and Simple look.

You can find out more about these challenges here. You’ll find lots of inspiration from the design team and other crafters to spark your creativity.

Let’s make it…

The card base is created from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and is followed by a layer of Whisper White cardstock. I have stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Cherry Cobbler multiple times on the left hand side of the card. The Pine Tree Punch has been used to cut out a piece of the Wrapped in Plaid DSP and this has been adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A length of Metallic Silver Thread has been coiled behind the Christmas Tree and the final touch is provided by a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
