It’s their birthday when?!

Most of us like to fuss over our cards for hours! Carefully considering where to place the three gems and what sort of bow to tie in the ribbon. However, sometimes we need something quick and easy because we need to get it to the post box in the next 10 minutes!

With a little bit of stamping, punching and trimming, you can create this colourful card in minutes.

I have used:

  • the new ‘in-colour’ Stampin’ pads: Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Lovely Lipstick
  • Pick a Pennant stamp set
  • Thoughtful Banners stamp set
  • Duet Banner punch
  • Lovely Lipstick cardstock
  • Whisper White cardstock

Step 1: create your card base using Whisper White cardstock

Step 2: trim a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock to make a background layer

Step 3: trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to make your card front

Step 4: stamp the bunting a couple of times in Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove ink

Step 5: stamp the star (first and second generation) in the other ink colours to create a background pattern

Step 6: stamp two banners and the words ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ within them

Step 7: punch the banners out. In my example I have also used the Lovely Lipstick Write Marker to add some dimension to the banners

Step 8: adhere the banners and layer up your card

Step 9: put the kettle on and write the card, you still have plenty of time to get to the Post Office!

Step it up! If you have a little more time to spare, why not add some personalisation to the bunting? Add the recipient’s name or age or an extra message.

Father’s Day Card

Quick and easy Father’s Day card

Here in the UK Father’s Day is on June 17th this year. Is it the same in the US? I know they have a different date for Mother’s Day than we do. Are you prepared? Do you have a card and present? If not, here’s a photo tutorial to help you make this quick and easy card. I’ll be back with more ideas for presents in the next couple of weeks. I’ll pop the shopping list at the end in case you want to make it exactly as shown. Images © Stampin’ Up!

Step 1:

Cut an A5 sheet of Bermuda Bay cardstock and score to create an A6 card base.

Step 2:

Apply strips of washi tape to the right side of the card base. Rip, rather than cut, the tape as we don’t want it to look overly neat.

Step 3:

Stamp the ‘Wishing You A Dapper Day’ sentiment from the ‘Truly Tailored’ stamp set in the bottom left corner of the card base.

Step 4:

Stamp the ‘Dad’ sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, along with one of the extra images (the ‘bowtie’ in this case).

Step 5:

Die cut (or trim) the sentiment.

Step 6:

Die cut (or trim) a slightly larger piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and stamp using one of the extra images to give some interest behind your sentiment.

Step 7:

Adhere the Whisper White cardstock piece onto the Crushed Curry cardstock piece.

Step 8:

Adhere the sentiment to the card base using dimensionals.

Step 9:

Write the card, pop it in an envelope and post it!
