Here is the project that I have made for our hop today, using the Stampin’ Up! Rooted In Nature Stamp Set…

Let’s Make It…

The (standard A6) card base is created from Soft Suede cardstock. The next layer is a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 13.9 x 9.5 cm.

Stamp the large tree in Soft Suede ink into the centre of the Whisper White layer. Cut this out using the coordinating die from the Nature’s Roots Die Set.

Use the (approx.) 7.6 x 11 cm Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a frame from the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock. You should now have three pieces – the tree, the stitched frame (with the tree cut out of it) and the outer frame (with the rectangle cut out of it).

Emboss the outer frame using the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere this to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Adhere the stitched frame to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the tree die cut and carefully place it into the aperture in the raised frame.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock in Soft Suede ink and cut out using the (approx.) 2.2 x 7.3 cm Stitched Rectangle Die. Cut a small length of Copper Metallic Ribbon (from the Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack) and adhere at the back of the sentiment piece using Tear & Tape. Cut another small length of the ribbon, thread it through one of the Acorn Trinkets and tie to the first piece of ribbon. Adhere the sentiment piece to the raised frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I think this card is a fabulous combination of clean and simple with a few great techniques thrown in. The Whisper White and Soft Suede colour scheme works so well with the copper embellishments.

  1. A wonderful technique, and your card is amazing, its masculine but at the same time sweet. Thank you for sharing!
