My Background
The background behind Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts involves an interesting and rarely-travelled journey from Software Engineer in a Canadian Steel Mill, to Senior Medical Technologist in Intensive Care, to Radiotherapy Physicist to Card Making Tutor!
Having spent 15 years working in the NHS, most recently as a radiotherapy physicist (!), I decided it was time for a change. Therefore, I decided to move from Essex, back to the Midlands (I’m originally from Leicester) to be closer to my family and pursue a new challenge.
I spent the first three years doing voluntary work and getting some much needed fresh air! Then, in 2017, I started Helen Chapman Handmade Crafts. Initially I was making cards and gifts and selling them at local craft fairs and online. In 2018 I became an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator which allows me to share my passion for these fabulous high-quality, coordinating papercraft products via workshops and other events. Importantly, I love teaching people the crafting hints and tips that I have gained over time and working with gorgeous Stampin’ Up! products.
I now live in Derbyshire with my partner Joe and our beautiful rescue dog, Bodger. When not crafting or running workshops I volunteer at my local animal rehoming centre and help my Mum to care for my 96-year-old Grandma!
My Approach
I aim to deliver a product that you will love, whether that is gorgeous Stampin’ Up! products, or a paper craft workshop which allows you to express your creativity and unwind whilst making something beautiful that you’ll be proud to send on to friends or family.
